Chapter 1703
Chapter 1703:
Cillian looked up, startled, his mouth opened as if to speak, but no words came out.
Everyone here felt free to joke around with Harlee, except for Cillian. He was always careful, handling everything with great attention to detail. It almost seemed like he carried a heavy load in life.noveldrama
Seeing his hesitation, Harlee casually said, “Ease up a bit. You don’t have to get everything perfect.”
Cillian was visibly shocked by her words, standing rigid for a moment as if rooted to the spot. He had never expected such reassurance from Harlee.
Harlee stood, gave his shoulder a few reassuring pats, and walked away without further comment, but those simple gestures spoke volumes to Cillian. At that moment, Rhys approached, carrying freshly squeezed watermelon juice. Noticing Harlee’s disengagement from the game and Judson’s lingering gloom, he observed the scene with curiosity.
Rhys approached Harlee, his eyes scanning the room, and when he saw her sitting on the carpet, he likely deduced the cause. But as his gaze shifted toward Cillian, his brow furrowed slightly. Was Harlee offering Cillian guidance?
Rhys masked his reaction, approached Harlee, and offered her the watermelon juice.
Harlee glanced up, opened her mouth, and Rhys promptly placed the straw to her lips.
Harlee took a satisfying gulp of the drink.
The group lounging on the sofa shifted their gaze between Rhys, Harlee, and the watermelon juice they shared. Tsk. Those madly in love always managed to find ways to dote on each other, and clearly, Harlee and Rhys were no different!

Jianna clicked her tongue, her voice tinged with envy.
“Harlee, I’ve just returned from the Island. Can you and Rhys save the love display for later? Spare a thought for us single people.”
Alina set down the tablet she was holding and nodded earnestly. Although she was no longer single, she really didn’t want to witness any overly sweet displays of affection.
Aldrich stroked his chin and grinned at Harlee and Rhys.
“Harlee, I think even those in love might find your and Mr. Green’s affection a bit too much.”
His words clearly hinted at something. If these people still didn’t catch on, it could only mean they were completely ignorant.
The others looked at Aldrich with disdain. He acted as if he knew all about romance, yet they doubted he’d ever been in a serious relationship.
Harlee surveyed the group, her gaze finally resting on Alina and Aldrich. She raised her eyebrows, curved her lips into a smile, and said, “This watermelon juice is really quite sweet.”
Her response was unclear, yet it seemed like another tender gesture, leaving Rhys visibly delighted beside her.
However, Rhys’s cheerful expression made the few people who had watched their affectionate displays turn their heads, no longer wanting to see it. Honestly, every gesture from these two was so sweet it was almost overwhelming!
Sweet? Harlee was getting better at using double meanings. They never imagined there could be people in this world who would describe Rhys as sweet. It was honestly terrifying!
Sensibly, the group on the sofa decided to ignore Harlee and Rhys altogether, deliberately avoiding looking in their direction.
Harlee’s attention shifted from Aldrich and Alina back to Rhys. Just as she was about to speak, her phone began to vibrate in her pocket. She pulled it out, glanced at the screen with indifference, and then turned to Rhys.
“I need to take this call. Head to the study. There’s something I need to discuss with you later.”
Harlee emphasized the word “something.”
Under Rhys’s resigned look, Harlee shot him a meaningful glance before heading to the yard to take the call.
