Caught Between Them

I plopped on the grass sweating profusely, the sword in my hand felt like cement, my legs quivered and I glared at Brock for the fifteenth time this morning.

“Why can’t you be nice? You are so mean” I said and his green eyes twinkled evily like he had wicked plans for me.

“I know you Amelia, if I get soft on you. I’ll be in your bed instead of whooping your ass in training” he said seriously and I blushed. Ever since I had successfully seduced him, he had been secretly been teasing me about it, calling me a vixen.

“It’s takes to two to do it. You were a willing participant” I said and he nodded, his eyes darkened a bit and I sighed; here it comes.

“I’ll really don’t want to hurt Logan, he loves you” he said and I sighed. I was getting tired of this honestly. If it wasn’t for him, I would have told Logan since.

“I don’t love Logan. I care for him and respect him, but…….” I took his hands and he watched me with his green eyed gaze.

“I love you Brock” I said and he let out his obviously pent up breath and sighed.

“Thank you” he said softly and I nodded. Though that was not what I desperately wanted to hear and he knew that too but it was enough at least for now. Brock waved goodbye and headed home while I practiced a few sword swings that he taught me before I headed to my quarters. When I got to my room, Gwen was already waiting, she obviously was trying to suppress a grin when she saw me sweating.

“Hope this isn’t what I am thinking” she said and I rolled my eyes.

“No idiot, I was sword training with Brock. Not what your perverted mind thinks” I said and she smiled at me.

“Whatever, I have got gist for you” when said and I stared at her.

“What gist?” I asked and she stood up to check her hair in the mirror.

“New girl, claims she was escaping a rogue pack. But by Lycan’s claws, she is beautiful. So beautiful I want to kiss her” Gwen said and I groaned.

“You didn’t tell me you were into girls” I said and she smiled.

“No I am not, but this lady is so beautiful and sexy that I want to be” she said.

“Whatever, I want to shower” I said. Gwen nodded and headed for the door.

“Oh by the way, Logan is gonna introduce her tonight. And girl, he looks smitten” she said and I stopped in my track. I thought the only person Logan was smitten with was me. I could not help but feel a sense of foreboding. Something felt definitely wrong.

Now it was my turn to gape, I mean I have seen a lot of beautiful girls but this one was by far the most beautiful I have seen. “Hi” the lady said, staring at Brock and only Brock. I started to frown, I didn’t like the way she looked at him.

“Hey, hello” Brock said and extended his hand. “Brock” he said and she smiled, revealing pearly white teeth.

“Sage” she said and shook his hand, “Sorry for causing a stir. I was fleeing rogue wolves” she said and Brock’s eyes darkened.

“Vincent?” He asked and confusion filled her beautiful features.

“Who’s Vincent?” She asked and Brock eyes wandered till they found Logan.

“Never mind. I should go. Check the borders” he said and she smiled wanly at him.

“Alright. I’ll like you to show me around later. I feel safe here” she said, flashing her trademark smile. Brock studied her then his lips lifted into a cocky smile.

“I’ll like that too” he said and was gone in an instant.
