Chapter 94
Sydney sat at her desk, twirling her pen between her fingers absentmindedly as she waited for Paxton to finish up some files. She couldn’t help but let her thoughts drift to their chiselled jawline, his piercing blue eyes, and his infectious laugh.
She had always had a bit of a crush on him, but lately, it had become all-consuming. She found herself daydreaming about him during meetings and staying late just to catch a glimpse of him leaving the office. It was like she couldn’t escape his allure.
But as much as she was drawn to him, she also knew that they had important work to do.
They were tasked with improving the working and payment standards of the production team of the White Company, and Sydney was determined to get the job done.
She took a deep breath, refocused her thoughts, and eagerly awaited Paxton’s return so they could begin their much-needed discussion.
Paxton looked up from his book and caught Sydney staring at him. She quickly looked away, feeling embarrassed that he had caught her daydreaming about him.
She had been trying to concentrate on her book, but couldn’t help but steal glances at him. She wished she could just disappear into the pages of her book.
Paxton couldn’t help but notice Sydney’s embarrassment. He smiled softly to himself, feeling flattered that she was looking at him.
He had always found her attractive but had never imagined that she might feel the same way about him. He took a moment to appreciate her beauty and then turned back to his book.
Sydney felt her cheeks turning red as she tried to focus on her book. She couldn’t believe she had been caught staring at Paxton. She wished she could just sink into the floor and disappear.
She tried to concentrate o her book but found herself reading the same sentence over and over. She couldn’t shake the feeling she had begun to stir in her heart for him.
It felt bad and surreal, this was not supposed to be the case, she was not supposed to be in love with her boyfriend’s brother.
Sydney felt guilty but Pacton didn’t he felt excited and happy she was possibly having thoughts of him in her head and just that alone could make him forget Angie which by the way Lydia wouldn’t let him hear half of it.
She had done on and on as to how Paxton was a jerk to leave the poor woman who was supposed to be his new girlfriend.
In Lydia’s words, ‘She is every man’s dream.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Of course, she was every man’s dream except Paxton he already had a womb in mind, the sad thing was she wasn’t his woman just yet but looking at her staring at his soul with dreamy eyes gave him a little hope.
That something might just brew up when they least expected it to brew, and he could see how much Sydney was trying to fight her feelings.
Looking at him she had always known that he was a beautiful man but just as she felt his arm snake his way behind her on the vouch she could almost jolt out of it.
Paxton had always been a powerful presence in the business world.
As CEO of one of the largest corporations in the country, his name was recognized by everyone.
But now, as Sydney sat across from him in his luxurious office, she felt his aura in a whole new way.
She was struck by how intoxicating his presence was, and she couldn’t help but feel weak in the knees.
It was as if she was being drawn in by his magnetism, unable to look away from his piercing gaze.
As they discussed the possibility of Paxton’s company moving closer to other adventures and also towards new conglomerates she found herself struggling to keep her attention on the conversation as he began to explain what he wanted to happen.
Yes, she knew he had called her to discuss with him but the sexual tension in the room was stuffy and age could feel herself already being drawn and feeling as though she was going to choke in his presence and aura.
She was completely under his spell, and the more she looked at him, the more she felt herself falling deeper.
She was starting to realize that the powerful attraction she felt was more than just admiration for his business acumen.
It wasn’t until Pacton stood up to walk her out of the office that Sydney finally caught her gust.
He even snaked his arms again around her waist as he led her to the door.
It wasn’t all surprising because she knew him to be touchy sometimes but when he got touchy he also made her feel like she was on cloud nine.
Unlike Jaxton she felt she was cheating by having such thoughts of his brother when he was trying to make conversation with her but she always dismissed him within seconds that he began.
“I think what we discussed today would be used greatly to impact the company’s growth,” Sydney said in a bid to ward off the awkwardness she felt she was having as they walked down the corridor to the other side of the company parking lot as it was time to go home.
She could feel eyes on her judging her even when they didn’t know what she was discussing with him.
And for that reason, she felt a certain need to tell Paxton to stop but her body wanted to have the feel of his hands on her body too.
Suddenly she stood and abruptly turned and his hands fell to his sides and he was waiting for her to say what had made her turn abruptly.
“Yes the terms out in place are healthy and you could see that the others are happy with the new things you put in place I am so happy to have chosen you for this” Paxton responded as he knew she wanted validation.
