grandfather’s hopes of her becoming a female captain, she might have really lost control and hurt Lucas.
Such thoughts had surfaced countless times, but likely due to her profession, Madison never let them show.
Some used to say Madison was too tolerant. She could utterly mask
her emotions.
The room grew silent.
For about ten seconds, Madison found herself enveloped in an
embrace.
Her reactions were slow from the alcohol.
Ethan’s voice soon followed, “It won’t happen, it definitely won’t.”

Madison was puzzled, “What am I thinking?”

Ethan spoke slowly, hoping the tipsy Madison would comprehend.
“Madison, don’t feel inferior. And certainly not because of Lucas; he was blind. But I can see, do you understand?”
He even bent down so Madison could easily see his sincere eye
Ethan understood the decay that came with divorce.
So he was prepared to personally help Madison recover, even if it
took time.
“I see.”
As the alcohol took hold, Madison’s eyes grew misty. She gently

As his words settled, Madison’s eyes closed.
She fell asleep with a smile on her face.
