Chapter 0140
Chapter 0140
On the other side, Captain Madison was piloting with utmost
concentration. Even during her breaks, she would take only brief naps. before returning to the cockpit to keep an eye on things, just in case.
“Captain, your meal is ready.”
Upon emerging, Amelia informed her, to which Madison simply nodded in acknowledgment.
The larger aircraft afforded a more spacious area for dining. Madison. sat behind the door, eating, leaving space for the flight attendants to pass through.
“Bang-”
Just as she was about to take a bite, a door flung open abruptly, knocking her arm and causing her food to spill all over her pristine white uniform, leaving a sizable grease stain.
“Ugh, this is so annoying…”
Yun Lei’s muttering ceased midway as she caught sight of who she had bumped into. Her face turned pale, “I’m so sorry, Captain! I didn’t realize you were dining here! I’m really sorry!”
Madison shook her head, taking a napkin to try and wipe the stain, but the damage was done.
“It’s okay, it wasn’t intentional.”
Yun Lei seemed panicked, “Your uniform… do you have a spare? Why don’t you change and rest a bit while I wash it for you?”
That’s when Amelia walked in. As the chief stewardess, her uniform and badge were distinct, and her presence was commanding even in
silence.
“Chief Stewardess…”
Yun Lei lowered her gaze in apology, “I didn’t realize the Captain was dining here. I opened the door too forcefully, and the food just…”
Amelia first inspected the stain on Madison’s uniform, then calmly said, “President Grant had foreseen such incidents. He had me bring an extra uniform for you. Go change”
“Okay.” Madison glanced subtly at Yun Lei before leaving.
Once they were alone, Amelia’s gaze on Yun Lei conveyed superiority. Despite her usually jovial and carefree demeanor, when angered, she was not to be trifled with.
“You didn’t know the Captain was dining here?” Amelia inquired.
Yun Lei nodded meekly, her eyes a picture of sincerity.
Amelia circled her, disposing of Madison’s unfinished meal. It was protocol that once the Captain’s food was unattended, it could not be eaten to prevent potential tampering.
After a moment, Amelia scoffed, “So where do you think the Captain should dine? In the cabin? Or perhaps… the cockpit?”
Yun Lei was suddenly speechless.
“You do hide your temper well,” Amelia observed.
“I…”
Amelia cut her off, “We’re alone here, so let me reiterate. Internal rivalries among the crew, hidden agendas, I can turn a blind eye to them. It’s natural to want to climb the social ladder.”
“But if you interfere with the Captain… that’s beyond a simple
workplace issue. You’re endangering everyone on this flight. I fear
death, and I won’t sit back if my life is threatened.”
Yun Lei was taken aback.
Amelia’s smile grew sweeter as she leaned in, “Just a reminder.
Jessica is Mukino International’s heiress, Ethan’s sister, and Madison’s classmate.”
Her implication was clear: Madison had powerful allies.
Don’t go looking for trouble.
Yun Lei’s face grew paler, not just from Amelia’s imposing manner but also realizing Madison’s hidden depths.
“I understand.”
“Keep your little schemes in check. President Grant is not someone you can toy with.” Amelia left with the tray.
Yun Lei clenched her fists, her arms trembling slightly. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
When the other attendants called for her, her radiant smile returned as if nothing had happened.
“Are you okay?”
Amelia handed a new meal tray to Madison.
Dressed in her fresh uniform, Madison accepted it, “No worries, just a bit of oil.”
“Why are you so mild-mannered?” Amelia leaned against the wall, arms folded, “Did you also take things lying down with Lucas?”
Hearing Lucas’s name after so long felt like a distant memory of another life-a failed marriage from a past life.
With calm recollection, Madison replied, “I suppose. Back then, his
word was law, and I rarely objected.”
Amelia showed a look of disgust, “I don’t get it. What was so great about Lucas that caught your eye? It’s not like you’re shortsighted.”
“Not shortsighted,” Madison chuckled, “Maybe just temporarily blind?”
Amelia, caught off guard, burst out laughing.
“Enjoy your meal.”
Madison nodded.
In the attendants’ area, after serving lunch, they gathered for a chat.
One of Amelia’s confidants whispered while Yun Lei was busy with drinks, “I overheard Chief Stewardess lecturing Yun Lei just now. Looks like she’s not in her good books.”
The others, all shrewd, knew what this meant.
They wouldn’t outright ostracize her, but they certainly would keep their distance.
Yun Lei could have had a chance to meet men of status if she had simply done her job well, but today’s incident likely dashed those hopes.
Word of Yun Lei’s faux pas with Captain Madison and angering Chief Stewardess Amelia spread quickly among Mukino’s crew.
Madison, the most sought-after female captain in Mukino, was not someone to offend. Could Yun Lei expect any good days ahead?
“What happened?”
In the office of Mukino International’s Chairman.
Michael, unseen for days, lounged on the couch, amused by the group chat when Ethan, unbeknownst to him, appeared behind.
Michael nearly leaped from his seat, “Can you not just pop up behind. people? You’ll scare someone to death, you know?”
“Who upset Madison?” Ethan asked, cigarette in hand, his black shirt accentuating his formidable physique.
Michael raised his phone, “They say it’s a transfer attendant, but you know how these women exaggerate. Who knows if it’s true?”
Ethan, though, took the matter seriously.
As the chairman of Mukino International, it was both personal and professional to ensure Madison wasn’t mistreated at his company.
So, amidst a hectic schedule, he summoned HR, “Get me Yun Lei’s file, and look into her background.”
