Chapter 2293
Jasper had been feeling mentally exhausted for three days since his fainting spell at the hospital.
During a regular corporate meeting, he even zoned out and started nodding off in front of everyone.
He turned down all evening business parties and social events, opting to return to Seaview Manor with Xavier.
Xavier's eyes were filled with concern as he trailed behind Jasper. "Mr. Beckett, you haven't been doing well lately. Would you like to go to the doctor's?"
"Which doctor?"
Jasper felt a heaviness in his body, a throbbing in his head, and a chill in the air that made him uncomfortable in a way he couldn't quite explain. "Dr. Lovelace is gone. Who else can solve my problems?"
Xavier, deeply worried, sighed like a father fretting over his son. "But if you keep ignoring this, what will you do if it gets worse? After today's meeting, the higher-ups were already whispering about you behind your back. If rumors start spreading...
"I am not sick," Jasper replied, his breath labored as he clenched his teeth to suppress his discomfort. "No one knows my body better than I do."
Xavier lowered his head, troubled. This version of Jasper was more stubborn than ever, refusing to listen to anyone.
Inside the living room, Justin and Javier were sitting on the couch, chatting happily and sipping tea, creating a calm, harmonious atmosphere.
"Welcome home, Jasper," Justin greeted with a smile and a nod.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
"Hi, Dad. Hi, Justin," Jasper replied, his face expressionless, his eyes showing a hint of fatigue.
Jasper had studied at the military academy and had endured countless injuries over the years, both major and minor. Yet, he had never seemed so defeated before. Justin frowned slightly. "Jasper, are you feeling unwell? You don't look good."
Jasper answered immediately, "I'm fine."
Just then, Sheryl, dressed in a white business suit, walked over carrying a tray of carefully arranged fruit. As she approached, her eyes met Jasper's. She smiled softly and tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear in a delicate, feminine gesture. But Jasper coldly looked away, unfazed.
Sheryl's smile faltered, and she felt a surge of irritation inwardly. She had assumed their relationship would have grown closer after she had saved him, but nothing had changed.
Still, Justin had advised her to be patient. Jasper, dense as he was, needed to be won over slowly.
"Jasper, you really should seek treatment if you're not feeling well. Don't delay just because it's inconvenient," Javier said, his expression stern but fatherly. "You're the president of Beckett Group.
"If something happens to you, it'll cause turmoil within the company. You need to keep that in mind. At least you've come to your senses and aren't bewitched by that woman from the Taylor family anymore. You no longer have to sacrifice yourself for her."
Javier's tone grew more intense. "It's absurd that a woman from the Taylor family had such control over you. It's embarrassing!"
Annoyed, Jasper furrowed his brow. "Dad, if there's nothing else, I'm going upstairs."
He turned to leave.
"Mr. Jasper," Sheryl suddenly called out in a sincere voice. "Have you been feeling light-headed and weak recently? Do you sometimes feel chills all over your body?"
