Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 253

A pair of golden scissors landed right in front of Simon.

The seamstresses outside the office stepped in when they heard the commotion. When the seamstresses who had once been loyal to Simon saw him, their faces twisted with disgust.

"Ugh, why does this man have no shame?"

"No shame? That's putting it lightly! I walked past the office earlier and heard him demanding compensation from Ms. Smith for wasting several years of his life. I even recorded it. It's revolting!"

"He's the type who only knows to leech off others. Why won't he just drop dead?"

"Ms. Smith's career is just taking off, and now, this parasite is trying to drag her down. What bad luck!"

"Mr. Moore happens to be on a business trip too. The timing..."noveldrama

Janice stepped closer to Simon.

One of the bodyguards picked up the scissors, but she took them instead. She shoved the scissors into Simon's hand, her voice chillingly calm. "I won't deny that

I owe your family a life. So, do it. Stab me right here."

Her cold, unwavering eyes bore into him. "If I die, then that's fate. But if I survive, from this moment on, my family will owe yours nothing."

Simon was shocked.

Janice grabbed his wrist and pressed the sharp tip of the scissors against her chest, right where her heart was.

She was wearing a white sweater, and a small red stain started to bloom across the fabric.

The bodyguards panicked, immediately stepping in to separate them.

Simon recoiled, flinging the scissors away. "You..."

Janice didn't blink.

"Debt is repaid with money; a life is repaid with a life. My brother is still a student, so I'll repay this favor for him."

The Fitzgeralds stood there, utterly stunned. They opened their mouths, but not a single word came out.

"What's wrong? Are you chickening out?" Janice took another step forward. "I'm standing right here, ready to give you what you want. And now, you don't want it?"

Of course, they wouldn't want her dead. If she died, how were they supposed to keep milking her?

Janice laughed. "Call the police. Tell them someone came to collect a life debt. Let's have them witness this properly."

The Fitzgeralds' faces drained of color. That wouldn't do!

"No! You can't call the police!" Simon lunged, trying to snatch the phone from Janice's secretary.

When that failed, he turned toward Janice in a rage. "You bitch, I'l....."

"How dare you!"

A thunderous voice cut through the air.

Simon froze for a moment before turning his head to see who it was. The voice came from Calvin. He exuded an undeniable authority, his mere presence leaving Simon frozen in place.

And right beside him was Terry.

The sight of him left Simon even more petrified.

Terry?

Terry Gallagher?

This man was powerful enough to challenge even Edward when angered!

Today, Terry had the day off and had come with his wife to check on their future niece-in-law. Edward was away on a business trip, and in his absence, his fiancée was being bullied.

When the three newcomers entered, the seamstresses outside immediately got back to work.

An overprotective brother and a couple who practically treated Edward like their own son were here.

Simon was done for.

Terry glanced at him. "You raised a knife against someone? In broad daylight?" Simon stumbled back. "No... No, Mr. Gallagher, it's a misunderstanding..." Terry was the mayor of Brightwater City, the wealthiest economic hub in the country. Rumor had it he was just one step away from becoming governor. Simon wouldn't dare offend someone of that caliber.

Terry arched an eyebrow. "Should we let the police check the fingerprints on the scissors and find out?"

Before Simon could

even stammer

out a response, Helena stepped forward. Unlike her son, she had no idea who Terry was. To her, he was just another old man blinded by Janice's scheming. She jabbed a finger at him, her face twisting in disdain.

"Don't try to cover for that fox! All you men are the same, falling for that filthy bitch's act. You screw around with her and then you clean up her messes! Damm,

you_"

"Mom!"

Simon nearly collapsed from the sheer horror of watching Helena dig his grave even deeper.

Sure, he didn't understand why Terry

was here, but one thing was

clear-he and Janice knew each other. He didn't expect Janice to be so well connected after becoming famous. She had somehow latched onto even bigger fish!

"It's all a misunderstanding! A misunderstanding!" Simon scrambled to smooth things over. "Mr. Gallagher, you have no reason to helpher. She already has a boyfriend! She's the type to act innocent on the surface while playing dirty behind the scenes. Do you really think she's worth defending-"

"Shut your mouth!"
