Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon)

Chapter 167

The officer hesitated. The higher-ups had specifically asked about this case, and they needed to ensure Janice's safety.

Janice offered a small smile. "It's fine. Unless he plans on staying in here for the rest of his life, he won't dare lay a finger on me."

Her words made Simon clench his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white.

After a brief pause, the officer stepped out but deliberately left the door slightly ajar, just in case Simon lost control and did something reckless.

But Simon wasn't as furious or as impulsive as expected. Instead, he just stared at Janice, his gaze locked on her.

Then, suddenly, it hit him.

From the moment Janice wired him money, the transfer had never gone through. Yet instead of pressing him about it, she had unexpectedly helped unfreeze his personal account.

And right about that same time, Solterra just so happened to have inventory available for sale.

When he connected the dots...

"Janice... You set me up from the start, didn't you?"

Janice slid her hands into her coat pockets, tilting her head slightly. "I should remind you, it was you who contacted me first. You were the one talking about reconciliation while scheming to get money out of me to fix your problems. If I'm not wrong, your mother and sister were in on it too, weren't they?

"Simon, you can't blame me. If anything, you should blame yourself for being too greedy. You actually thought you could use me."

Simon pressed further, "You and Edward planned this together?"

"He was just cooperating with me."

Simon suddenly shot to his feet, slamming his hands down on the armrests of the chair as he roared, "What the hell does he have that I don't? Janice, we were together for seven years! The moment you joined Prosper Stitch Group, you started thriving, but when you were at Refined Threads Co., why the hell didn't you do more to help me?"

Seeing how unhinged he looked, Janice stood as well. "Do you think you have the right to bring up the past? Since you refuse to agree to my terms, I'll be filing a lawsuit first thing tomorrow. So, what's it going to be? Are you going to transfer your shares to settle the debt, or should I kick you out myself? It's your choice."

She turned to leave, but Simon gritted his teeth and spat out, "Janice, Refined Threads Co. has other shareholders! Even if I go down, there's no way in hell I'll let you take over! I'd rather burn the whole company to the ground than lébyou have a piece of it! You can forget about it!"

Janice didn't look back. "You've already damaged Refined Threads Co. and dragged the other shareholders into this mess. So, tell me, do you think kicking you out will be difficult?"

Then, she turned and walked toward Simon, step by step.noveldrama

Leaning in slightly, she whispered, "Simon, I'll make sure you have no place left in Greenfield City."

"You're a damn thief, Janice! What kind of spell did Edward put on you to make you come after me like this?" Simon snapped, lunging to grab her by the throat.

But before he could even touch her, Janice struck first. Swiftly and precisely, her foot slammed into his lower abdomen.

Simon staggered backward, clutching the edge of the table as pain shot through his body. His glare burned with fury.

Janice's expression remained cold and detached like she was looking at nothing more than a pile of trash. "From the moment you left my brother to die, this outcome was inevitable."

Outside the police station, the snow continued to fall. Janice stepped onto the icy pavement and walked away, but not toward the Cullinan. Instead, she crossed the street and approached a black van. Lifting a hand, she tapped lightly on the window with her finger.

Inside the van, Heidi nearly jumped out of her skin. How did Janice know she was here?

Janice knocked twice more. Heidi had no choice but to take a deep breath and roll down the window.

A faint cloud of mist escaped Janice's lips as she said, "Stay out of my business with Simon. If you interfere again, I'll come for you too. Do you understand?"
