Chapter 19: Be Fruitful and Multiply, and to have Conjugal Felicity

Her head had just drooped down and before she could even bend over her body, Lawrence instantly

Charlotte staggered backwards as she fell back far away from him after being pushed violently, and

when she had finally managed to keep her footing, she curled her lips into a smile while uttering,

“Thank you for your mercy, Mr. Harris. I wish for you to be fruitful and multiply, and may the two of you

enjoy everlasting conjugal felicity for the rest of your life. Furthermore, you won’t be able to meet any

woman whom is as disgusting as me ever again.”

Charlotte did indeed get lost from his sight right away, and she had trodden along Victoria’s courtyard

all the way to the commercial district in the city center.

When she had just arrived at the central zone of the city, she immediately detected Lawrence’s figure

on the massive TV wall which was directly ahead of her after lifting her head.

“Breaking news: Walvis Group, which is led by the business magnate, Lawrence Harris, has already

Charlotte’s face took on a ghastly expression after watching the news as he had indeed kept his words

and moved in on Garcia Group without giving any quarter!

This meant that she had failed to fulfill her promise to Evelyn, so what was she going to do about her

father and brother now that she had infuriated that wretched and evil woman?

She was suddenly thrown into a panic after running around like a headless chicken, and it was at that

moment that the giant TV screen had switched to another news. This time, another prominent figure

had shown up on the big screen after Lawrence.

“According to reliable sources, the nationwide renowned detective has shown up in City B today to help

a well-known entrepreneur to find his daughter whom has been missing for many years.”

Charlotte could not move her feet anymore after she had accidentally stumbled upon the news about

that detective.

Her feet were planted firmly on the ground while she stared intently at the TV screen with unblinking

eyes, and the words ‘Hundred percent success rate for finding missing persons’ had spellbound and

transfixed her on the spot.

A daring idea had materialized in her head all of a sudden, but her flame of hope was extinguished in

an instant when the sky-high remuneration that was mentioned previously had occurred to her…

Her shoulder was suddenly tapped by someone from behind, and when she had turned around to get a

good look, a towering man had come up to her. He raised his hand and passed a brand-new phone

over to her while saying, “This is from Ms. Wilson.”

As soon as he had completed his task, he turned around and walked away from her without even

giving her any chance to react.

When the man had just disappeared, a video call from Evelyn popped up on the screen at once.

Evelyn presumably could not sit still anymore after Lawrence had become aggravated and moved in on

Garcia Group at a flash.

However, Evelyn’s face had not appeared on the screen as per her expectation when Charlotte had

accepted the call, instead her brother, Ethan Garcia!

He was sitting at a corner against the footwall in a dimly lit room with a blurred background, hence it

was impossible to discern where he was right at this moment.

Charlotte stared at her brother with her eyes wide open, and tears instantly rolled down her cheeks as

she asked anxiously, “Is it really you, Ethan? How are you and Dad? Where is he? Let me see him!”

She could only watch them afar through the videos and photos that Evelyn had taken for her before

this, so when Evelyn had gone out-of-the-way this time by allowing her to see them through video

calling, she instantly knew that Evelyn’s intention was to further pressurize her.

However, she could not care less as she desperately wanted to know whether her father and brother

were well and alive.

“Charlotte.”

She could perceive that Ethan was extremely scraggy while his eyes were deeply sunken from the

video call, and his high-spirited demeanor and vigor of youthfulness were nowhere to be seen

anymore. His eyes had welled up after calling out to Charlotte with a catch in his voice.

Ethan was the only one whom had appeared in the video while her father was still nowhere in

sight.
