BILLIONAIRE’S SECRETARY

CHAPTER TWELVE

“But the older ones who worked here said the boss did not want anything like the post of a secretary, and hereby told the interview committee not to include anything like a secretary application,” Zoey said.

“Yes, that is true, for almost twenty years, no secretary has worked here,” Phillip said calmly.

“Hmmm, I do not know the boss’s reason, so let us not bother about the CEO’s decisions,” Luca added to the conversation, and that was true, they did not know their boss’s reason for employing a secretary now, so they needed to back off.

“Okay guys, I am off to work,” Luca said as he stood up, adjusted himself, and left for the exit. Zoey, you have to be at your table, right? I wonder what type of receptionist you are, seriously,” Luca added

“Yes, I would be on my way there now,” Zoey intervened.

“Phillip, I am off, I would not want the boss to come here and see us going, you know what that means when he slightly sees us, I cannot afford to lose my job, so see you later in the day,” Zoey added as she got up and arranged her dress.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“Yeah, see you later,” Phillip said as he watched Zoey move towards the exit, and he turned back to continue his job. ____________ TINA

“You are starting work immediately, but you have to see the CEO first, okay?” Mr. Aaron asked, and I nodded. “Okay,” I said as I got up from the chair and sank into my thoughts.

So I would be meeting the person I was warned about.

“Oh God, see me through this.”

“I need this job, and not even the CEO can change anything about giving me this job,” I said to myself.

“Did you say something?” Mr. Aaron asked

“No, I didn’t say anything.” I am sorry. “I think you heard wrong.” I lied to him as I bowed my head down, I was not so good at lying and looking up at the person in the eye.

“Okay, if you say so, I would love to help you out since you are aware that the elevators are under renovation,” Mr. Aaron said as he got up from his chair.

“Okay, sir, what floor does the CEO’s office occupy?” I asked as I looked back up at him.

“His office is on the last floor, that’s why I want to help you out.” I swallowed heavily as the answer sank into my head, brain, organs, and system.

I felt weak overall.

“Did I make a mistake?” I asked myself as trickles of tears unnoticeably fell from my eyes onto my cheek, and I immediately used my hands to clean it up.

First, after this long process, I still need to meet with the CEO for him to confirm who the post of secretary was given to.

Secondly, I am currently on the thirteenth floor calculating from the downward, but his office is on the first floor if I were calculating from the upward, actually the last floor. I am so doomed today.

Oh, Lord, help me! I totally had nothing to live up to when it came to the CEO, and I had no games in store for me. “Are you interested?” I snapped out of my thoughts as I looked down at my shoes.

I would not say this was the worst thing that had happened to me. “Yes.. yes, I am,” I answered as he made his way to the door, and I followed behind him.

“You have to stop frowning your face if you are going up there, okay?” “Everything is going to be fine,” he assured me as I brightened up my face.

Well, that was actually true, I had to brighten up and look smart so that the CEO would not underrate me.

“Yes, sir, I understand that very well,” I said to him, and he smiled. “Okay, very well, then,” he said as we walked towards the elevator.

“I am going to help you go through with the elevator so you can get there fast, you know I am not so wicked to let you climb the staircase, so thank me later,” Mr. Aaron said as he pressed the elevator button and the elevator opened.

“This is the CEO’s elevator, and eventually you will get to use it with him, it’s the fastest of all the elevators here in the Seamus Group of Companies,” Mr. Aaron added as he turned to face me.

“Thank you so much, sir.” “I really appreciate you, but I do not know how to appreciate you more because words cannot express gratitude at times.” I appreciated him. I could not believe he was doing this for me, honestly, I really could not tell how to get to the last floor by climbing the stairwell.

I was sure that I was going to faint at the last step, but God always sent me a helper.

“There’s actually no need for that, after all, I believe in the adage that says what you sow, you shall reap, I would rather do good than bad, but if you did bad to me, I would definitely pay it back with bad, that is a fact,” Mr. Aaron said, laughing at the same time.

Then we entered the elevator together, and he pressed the last floor button, and then we were going up very fast.

I could hear my heart beating on my leg. Gosh, I was so scared.

“You do not have to be scared, Christina, you will get used to it,” Mr. Aaron said to me. I knew he must have seen me shiver with fear. “No… no… no, I am not scared at all, not at all,” I said with hesitation.

And finally, the elevator stopped, and the door opened.

I literally ran out of the elevator. My heart was beating so fast, and I felt like I would have a heart attack.

“Thank God, finally it’s over,” I said to myself. Mr. Aaron and I walked briefly down the spacious hallway.
