Chapter 38
The sun was rising and he was still asleep. The golden light spilled on his face, highlighting his eyelashes…
The man’s eyelashes were abnormally lengthy, Ava discovered!
She walked over to check what was going on, but he opened his eyes and gazed at her without blinking. The past was gone.
His eyes’ sadness and complexity eluded her. He was always gazing at her, as if he was looking through her at someone else…Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Her two eyes met his, and she couldn’t look away till he approached, his tiny lips brushing against hers. It seemed like though he was pampering his infant.
When Avaregained consciousness, she shoved him away.
She sat upright, away from him. Her cheeks were flushed by the golden light that filled the sky.
Jeorge Milton whispered quietly, reaching for her hand. “Can I go up and lay down?”
Ava looked up at him.
Jeorge Milton had the impression that she was treating him like a dangerous wolf. “Don’t worry, if the wolf planned to attack you, he didn’t need to wait until today,” he mocked her.
Why did he wait until now?
He made Ava’s face even redder.
“Don’t be too expectant. I’m weary today and won’t touch you.”
He’d never encountered a woman who despised him so intensely.
“Who’s looking forward ?”Ava sneered.
She wanted he’d never touch her or hate her.
“Do you really want me to become bored of you?”Jeorge Milton questioned, his grin hidden.
Isn’t it obvious that she disliked him? Jeorge Milton smirked cruelly.
He had pushed her to a point where she had no option but to obey him. In actuality, she despised it when others played with her.
She resented him the more he attempted to get close to her.
“Do you really don’t want me to go up there? ” he said, his lips curved in a pathetic arc.
Ava smirked. “There’s more than one, both of them,” she murmured, withdrawing her hand.
He laughed “”Then I shall go up and see who dares to touch my wife.”
His actions made Avachuckle.
Even though she had a grin on her face, she was scared that others would gossip if they spotted Jeorge Milton.
“No way, Jeorge Milton, I’ll be noticed if I go up now.”
“What?”
Arriving in her chamber, he drew her close, hugged her from behind, and said softly, “Do you fear being seen?”
“Why? ”
He knew the answer, but he purposefully murmured it in her ear while holding her.
Ava smirked, not daring to chastise him harshly. “Jeorge Milton, don’t do this!” she hushed.
“I’m afraid you should hurry up and open the door before your neighbor sees it.”
Ava couldn’t help but open the door. She regretted entering the room! She wished she hadn’t!
He drew her into his grip, forced her head down, and kissed her. “Jeorge Milton, don’t forget what you said just now,” she said fiercely, reaching out to cover her lips.
He won’t touch her!
“Then let me hold you,”Jeorge Milton said, tightening his arms around her.
Ava’s head fit his chest. As she leaned against his chest, she could hear his strong and steady pulse.
Ava wanted to fight free, but as she thought of Goden Bran’s coldness, her palm on Jeorge Milton’s chest lost all force.
She even missed Jeorge Milton’s embrace’s feeling of security.
Maybe Goden Bran had enough of her, and Jeorge Milton’s actions helped him restore confidence.
Every time he held her, he wanted to rub her into his body with his great might. So much so that she mistook him for someone else she couldn’t bear to lose or miss…
Sadly, Goden Bran never gave her that sensation.
He offered her a feeling, an embrace, out of pity…
“Didn’t you say you were going to lay down for a while?” she said softly.
“No guest rooms, sleep on the couch.”
“Ava, help me make something to eat, and anybody can eat what you cook, but only I can’t eat it.”
His voice sounded like a kid denied chocolates, yet Avafelt a warmth in her heart.
“Isn’t it simply food?
What delicacies hadn’t he tried before?
What does it matter what she cooks?
Jeorge Milton drew his arm back and hugged her. “I can’t eat the stuff you prepare,” he whispered seriously, his chin against her hair.
His tone was both whining and envious. c
When he came at the hospital that day, Tianra Lins was eating Ava’s soup. “My brother-in-law is the luckiest man alive, and the food my sister prepares is amazing,” she proudly added.
“Do you believe my brother-in-law is pleased eating my sister’s cooking?”
Jeorge Milton just smiled, but he was envious of Goden Bran.
He hoped she would be willing to cook for him again…
Hearing his tone made Avafeel helpless, like if he would never be able to eat it.
“Nothing to cook today, maybe tomorrow.”
“Is it today?”
“There’s always a possibility,”Jeorge Milton said after a lengthy pause.
Avafollowed him, wanting to stop him. “This bed is extremely comfy,” he moaned, already lying on it.
“You’re being slept in.”
She didn’t want his odor on her bed…
“Hurry up!”Avayelled, reaching out to pull him back.
His hand was suddenly retracted, and he yanked…
Ah…
She shouted and pounced on his chest. Jeorge Milton encircled her waist and crushed her against his body. Then he used his long legs to squeeze her legs, immobilizing her.
“Jeorge Milton, you rogue!”Ava shouted fiercely, her cheeks reddened.
“Rascal?””You still don’t get a real rogue.”
As he said, he kissed her.
Fearful, Ava closed her eyes and leaned her head to the side.
His kiss wasn’t on her lips, but on her earlobe. His smoky breath caressed her face, disrupting her cardiac rhythm.
“Jeorge Milton…”Av atightened up, frightened.
He didn’t respond. Instead, he slept at her side, resolutely holding her waist…
“Don’t move it carelessly,” he added in a low voice, as she felt uncomfortable.
Ava glanced at him and realized he had closed his eyes and was tired.
A person who slept too much would be too lethargic to get up.
A warm hug.
He didn’t want to get up in the cold.
