ANNABELLE

“She must tell me who got her pregnant!” were the next words I heard the moment I became conscious.

Where was I? I looked around iny surroundings and realized that I was definitely not in my room, but in a hospital room.

The next faces I saw were Dad and Mom, and Dylan and Mira. I gasped when I realized Dad and Mom already knew about my pregnancy!

“Honey, shhh. She’s awake,” I heard Mom whisper to Dad.

“Annabelle, good, you’re awake… Who got you pregnant?!” Dad asked me the moment. my eyes were opened.

“Honey!”

“Sandra, just keep shut. This is between me and her,” Dad said angrily, and then he faced me with an angry face, “Tell me!” he snapped.

I looked at Dylan, who was standing beside Mira, looking as if he didn’t know what Dad was asking me. He was holding Mira’s hand so passionately as he stared at me on the bed.

“Dad… It’s…”

“It’s who?!”

“It’s Dylan, Dad. He’s the one. Dylan, say something!” I urged him, but he looked at me as if he didn’t know what I was saying.

Dad looked at both Dylan and Mira with a look of confusion on his face.

“Are you sure of what you’re saying, Annabelle?”

“Yes, Daddy.”

Dad looked at Dylan in confusion.

“Head warrior Darius, I know nothing of such. I’ve never even touched her before.” Dylan denied.

“Dylan!” I called his name.

“Dad! How could you believe her lic? Dylan is my mate!”

“Mira?!” I called her name, shocked..

“Dad, she allows men into her room every night; I always warn her about it. Now she’s looking for someone to pin her pregnancy on… And she wants to pin it on my mate!”

Dad’s eyes spoke rage. He rushed to me and landed a dirty slap on my face.

“Honey!” Mom cautioned Dad as she patted my back. Tears flowed out of my eyes.

“Why do you derive so much joy from disgracing this family? You think you can destroy this family and go scot-free?!”

“Dad… It’s all a lie. Dylan, he was the one who-”

I’m not your dad! Don’t ever call me that name!” Dad yelled at me, his eyes screaming in anger.

“Honey!”

“Sandra, shut the hell up! I wouldn’t have had this worthless being in my house and in my life if you hadn’t forced me to take her in thirteen years ago!” Dad snapped angrily.

“Honey! Stop!”

What was I hearing?

“Do you know the kind of trouble she has put me in?! What would happen to my position and all of my possessions?! What would happen to this family?!”

“Dad?!” I cried.

“I said don’t call me that name!” Dad snapped, and I shivered in fear.

I knew Dad was outraged. Even I was so scared. The family was in trouble all because of my carelessness.

What about me? I would also be beheaded.

I sniffed and cleaned up the tears I didn’t know were falling.

“Clean those tears of yours and tell me who impregnated you, you worthless, weak bastard!”

“Dad… I’m telling the truth. It’s Dylan who impregnated me.” I cried, still not believing what was happening to me.

Dylan betrayed me and denied our child even after all of his promises to me.

“Just shut up!” Dad snapped, making me whimper in fear. “How dare you lie against your sister’s mate?!”

Mira smiled slyly and adjusted her neck, and the next thing I noticed was the mark on her collarbone.

He’d marked her already and she’d marked him also! No wonder Dad believed they were mates already!

Dad raised his hand to slap me again, but this time, Mom held his hand.

“Honey! It’s okay!” Mom screamed at Dad, who looked like he was about to kill me if 1 stayed there any longer, “You promise not to hit any of our children.”

“She’s not my child. This abandoned fool is not my child. I can’t have a worthless and reckless child like this. We could have just left her to rot and die in the forest.”

Dad’s words went through me like a sword.

I couldn’t hold it any longer, so I jumped out of bed and ran out of the room, holding my chest in pain.

This was all too much to bear…

Everything and everyone I had known and loved had turned their backs on me.

I didn’t look at my surroundings and was about to cross the road when I heard a loud horn coming towards me.

It all happened like a flash-the huge moving vehicle moving towards me, almost on the verge of hitting me-and all I could do was stare at it, shocked and confused as to

what to do.

Before I knew it, I was pushed out of the road until I landed directly on the floor.

It was soft…

I widened my eyes in shock as I realized that, apparently, I hadn’t landed on the floor. but on a body.

A man’s body!

I pushed him away from my body and stood up abruptly before landing a heavy slap on his face.

“How dare you try to take advantage of me?!” I accused him.

He was dumbstruck, as his mouth was wide open, staring at me, like he couldn’t believe I just slapped him for saving me.

Fine, I know he just saved me from a moving vehicle, but right now, my brain was disoriented.

My brain was jumbled up. Thoughts of Dylan’s denial, Mira’s betrayal, and the new revelation I just heard from my dad were making my brain jumble up.

I wandered around the pack hospital, not giving a care in the world that the man was still watching me, staring at me like he still couldn’t believe what I had done.

My heart thumped when I sighted Dylan’s car ten feet away. I decided to go confront him. He had to tell me why he did what he did to me and why he chose to make my

life

“What do you mean she was pushed out of the road before you could hit her?” I heard his voice from a corner beside his car.

I hid in a corner so as to listen to what he was saying.

“You’re such an incompetent fool. I paid you a huge amount of money to eliminate her, and you’re telling me nonsense. I want her dead. Make sure you kill her today! Rubbish!”

“What happened? He wasn’t able to kill her.” I heard Mira ask him as she came out of

his car.

“That **d couldn’t kill her. He said she was pushed out of the road by a man before. he could hit her.”

“What?!”

“No. No. It can’t be.” I forced out a laugh, not wanting to believe what I had just heard.

They can’t do such a thing, right?

Even though they might hate me, they still couldn’t do such a thing, right?

“Fxck! Why didn’t he just smash her until she died? I don’t want anything that would disrupt our relationship. I just want her dead along with that child she claims to be carrying for me.”

“She has to die before the Alpha finds out the truth about her pregnancy… You know that would make my dad’s position stripped from him…” Mira inputted.

I covered my ears, refusing to hear any more.

“Nooooooo!!!” I cried out loud.
