Begging the Divorced Heiresses Back

Chapter 3 Give you a ride

Anya's

POV:

As I looked at their excited expression, I couldn't help but sneered. 'It was no wonder people say that money can do anything! It might be my first time seeing the member of the Walter family so excited after seeing me...' I scoffed inwardly.

The reason I came back this time was all because of my grandfather. In the Walter family, he was the only person who was nice to me and loved me. And since he had left the Walter Group in my hands, I don't want to disappoint him. After all, it was my grandfather's whole

life work.

And I didn't want to get ruined in the hands of those useless people.

"What's there to be surprised about it? How can someone like her not show up at a time like this? She is such a greedy person and it's a lot of money! How can she let it go?"

Suddenly a sarcastic voice fell into my ears.

I pulled back my thoughts and turned my head to look in the direction of the voice. Then, I saw, Harry, Mia's son looking at me angrily.

Harry had never treated me as his elder sister since we were young and now when I had become the biggest beneficiary of my grandfather's will, I am not surprised to see him like this. But who cares! I don't even give a damn about him!

"In all those years, you didn't come to see Grandpa even once and don't care about him. However, now when it's time to talk about the inheritance, you came. How shameless!" Harry continued.

"Enough of that." At that moment, my father looked at Harry and spoke.

Then, he patted me on the shoulder and said, "Anya, don't mind him, after all, he is your brother. Since you are back, move back home! It's not good for you to live outside!"

"Yes, Anya, come and live with us. Also, your grandfather made a will on his deathbed. He wants you to inherit the 51% shares of the Walter Group. The illness must have clouded his head. How could he leave such a large enterprise in the hands of the girl who knows nothing about it? Anya, you are still young and dumb. I think you should let your father run the business." Mia said merrily with her lips curling up in a sneer.

Hearing her words, my lips curled up into a sneer, but there was no expression on my face.

How could I not understand what she was trying to say? Ever since Mia had moved to the Walter family, she was in control of everything, so she also wanted to control me and always thought that I was bound to listen to her.

However, what she didn't know was that I was no longer that old Anya who was afraid of her. I am no longer a soft and weak person...

I ignored them, turned to look at Mr. Gary, and said, "Mr. Gary, should I continue the other formalities after my grandfather's funeral." "There is no problem. We can proceed according to your plan!" Mr. Gary replied respectfully.

I nodded and thanked them politely.

"Yeah! Yeah! Father's funeral is very important! We will talk about it after the funeral. Let's postponed everything until then." My father said. However, I ignored their words, turned around, and left.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

Evan's POV:

As I was waiting for my car outside the company, I couldn't help but think about Anya.

When Tara asked me about Anya in the office, I froze for a moment as I didn't know how to answer the question.

Four years ago, when I sent her the divorce papers through my lawyer, I thought that she would not sign it or at least make some scene...

However, to my surprise, she didn't. When my lawyer handed me the papers, I couldn't even believe in my eyes, as I looked at her signature. After all, I always believed that she was just a gold digger, so I thought she must be planning something. What's more, when I got home the next day, Anya had already moved out. What's more, except for her ID and a few clothes which she bought from Walter's family, she didn't take anything with her.

But I still didn't believe that she would give up so easily and thought that she would certainly pester me, so I prepared many ways to deal with her.

However, I had never expected that I wouldn't have any need to do this, as she was not going to come back.

And these four years, there had been no news of her. Of course, I had never tried to investigate where she was.

It had been four years, and I had never heard anything about her from anyone.

She just disappeared from my world as I asked her to do so...

And today, from the moment, Anya walked out to the office, she didn't even look at me at once, as if she didn't see me at all.

And I don't know why, seeing her like this makes me feel a little irritated.

As I was lost in thought, suddenly the sound of high heels tapping on the ground fell on my ears. As I turned around, I saw Anya walking out of the building.

"Where are you going? Let me give you a ride!" I spoke. My voice was kind of hoarse because I hadn't spoken for a long time.

Anya raised her brows as smiled politely, shook the car keys in her hand, and said, "Thanks, but I don't need it. I have my own car."

Her face was indifferent and expressionless as if she was simply being polite to a stranger.

Suddenly, I felt someone grabbed my arm. Turning around I saw Tara holding my arm intimately, as she looked at Anya and said, "Anya, why are you so polite as if we are strangers! We are family and it's natural for us to help each other. By the way, why don't you move back with us. At least, you don't have to be alone, and..."

However, before Tara could finish her sentence, Anya interrupted her, "Thanks! But I don't have any family, and I don't like to be with strangers!"

Saying that she waved politely and walked to the sliver Bentley parked not far away. Then, she opened the door and got in.

Soon, with a roar the car drove away and disappeared in the crowd.

"It seems that my sister had been living a good life these years! She could enjoy such a rich life without any help from the family." Tara remarked.

However, I didn't say anything in response.

During the four years when Anya had been gone, for various reasons, I didn't marry Tara. Moreover, with these four years, I realized that Tara was simply not the one for me.

The only reason that I didn't break up with Tara was because of my family. The Walter family was wealthy, but it was nothing compared with the Carters. However, the elders of both families were close friends. That was why he had always been taking care of the Walter family.

Except for that, there is also another reason. Ten years ago, when I nearly drowned while I was swimming, at that time it was Tara who saved me. Ever since then, I swore that I would love and protect this girl for the rest of my life.

"Anya had always been striving since she was just a kid. She is smart and good with men, too. See her fancy clothes and car? She must have hooked up with some wealthy fellow again. Unlike her, Tara, you are always stupid and innocent, and people try to take advantage of you."

At that moment, a woman's voice came from behind me. As I turned around, I saw Mia walking towards us.

Even though it looked like she was praising Anya, it was not hard for me to tell the meaning behind her words. "Mom, what are you talking about?"

"Oh, I just want you to learn from Anya. Do you see how good she has been doing? Girls like her are never for us to be worried about wherever she goes. There aren't many girls as smart as her anymore."

Hearing her words, I don't know why I felt a little upset in my heart.

"Mia, Tara, I must go now. I have an important meeting tonight," I said.

"Yeah, sure. Drive safe, alright? Mia replied with a flattering smile. It seemed like she didn't want to offend her daughter's promising husband-to-be.

However, I didn't say anything, turned around, got in the car and drove away.
