Chapter 673
The sight of Selena's name instantly halted Trevor's excitement. Suddenly, his expression changed and Victoria's face began to turn pale. Regardless of whether she was about to chase him out or not, their behaviors towards each other were intimate at the beginning. Yet, at that very moment, their expressions were utterly unsightly as as their eyes met.
His cell phone kept ringing, but none of them made a single move as they both were frozen on the spot.
"I'll... answer this call!"
Trevor's voice sounded slightly erratic. It was as if he had asked Victoria for her opinion.
Yet, from Victoria's perspective, he sounded as calm as he usually was. All of a sudden, her heart turned cold and a cynical laugh flashed through her eyes. She pivoted away and subconsciously wiped the corner of her lips. Subsequently, Victoria walked towards the make-up table and picked up the box of foundation and a lipstick.
Right then, Trevor sensed the aloofness surrounding Victoria as he stood behind her. He immediately clenched his cell phone tightly and remained still for a while.
At that moment, his cell phone suddenly stopped ringing as well.
Trevor pivoted his body before he took a step forward. Just as he was about to speak, his cell phone abruptly rang once again. Seeing that it was still Selena, he answered the call.
"Nana..."
In the middle of the call, Trevor strode out of the room.
In an instant, tears welled up in her eyes. However, Victoria simply raised her head and suppressed her sadness.
Once he left the room, Trevor made his way to the corner of the corridor. Right then, he deliberately lowered his voice and answered the call. As soon as he hung up and wanted to head back, he coincidentally saw Alicia and a group of people entering the room with their chatters and laughter.
With a faint sigh, he had no other choice but to return to the banquet hall.
The wedding had commenced in an orderly fashion and everything was as majestic as a fairy tale.
Initially, Trevor thought Victoria would be unhappy. To his surprise, she was smiling ordinarily throughout the entire ceremony. He felt slightly relieved after seeing that, but little did he know that she had put on a smile simply for the sake of it. Moreover, her dull gaze towards him was as if there was a barrier between them.
At that moment, the wedding was in full swing. Every step that Victoria took was prudent. She had strived for perfection.
However, when Norman handed her hand to Trevor while the host told her to thank and bid farewell to her parents, she instantly broke down in tears. Trevor held Victoria in his arms as he swiftly said,
"Dad, Mom, please entrust her to me! I will take good care of Victoria for the rest of my life! I will never take her for granted or bully her!"
Norman and Veronica were in tears as they sent her off to the stage. At that moment, they were both happy and sad. Fearing that Victoria would be more upset, they promptly returned to their seat as soon as they handed over the wedding gifts.
Fortunately, the process was a fast one. Shortly, the host then expedited the ceremony, and it proceeded into the main part.
"Mr. Trevor, will you have this woman to be your wife; to live together with her in the covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful unto her as long as you both shall live?"
"I will!"
"Miss Victoria, will you have this man to be your husband; to live together with him in the covenant of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in poor and in rich; and, forsaking all others, be faithful unto him as long as you both shall live?"
Raising her eyes, Victoria clearly paused for two seconds before she slowly said, "I...I will!"
The hesitation and softness in her voice was obvious. If it wasn't clear enough, it was also written on her face. She was not willing!
In an instant, Trevor was able to capture her true emotions. He even noticed her strange voice and the slight avoidance in her eyes. Inexplicably, his heart sank to the bottom of the ocean.
"You both have made a sacred vow before God. Please remember to uphold all your promises to each other and God will bless you both! Now, please exchange the rings between the newly wed couple!"
Momentarily, the server presented the ring box to the couple. Trevor took the ring and slid into her finger, yet Victoria was once again dazed at that very moment. A rare pink diamond ring? Not only was it of great value, her favorite tulip flower design was also carved onto the ring.
Although there wasn't any particular significance to the wedding ring, its value and design had reflected his genuine intentions to a certain extent. Leastwise, it showed his sincerity. In an instant, Victoria was confused.
Before she came to her senses, a shadowy figure was already towering over her. She turned around and felt a warm sensation on her lips. Right then, Victoria subconsciously pursed her lips tightly. As she tilted her head, she was immediately stunned by the thought that flashed through her mind. Despite that, it was self-evident that she was conflicting her own emotions.
In that instant, Trevor was well-aware of her subtle movements. However, due to the fact that they were on the stage at that moment, he merely held his tongue and quickly ended the kiss.
The both of them were somewhat puzzled towards the end of the ceremony. The ring on her hand was the only thing on Victoria's mind. Meanwhile, the corner of Trevor's eyes were fixed on her...
Below the stage, Alicia sniffled between words as she looked at the couple. Frederick hugged her gently and lowered his head to plant a kiss on top of her head.
"Are you missing your parents?"This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
"Yeah..."
Both of Alicia's previous weddings were nightmares. Besides that, the thought of her parents residing in another country made her even sadder.
On the account that her father could barely get out of bed, it was impossible for Alicia to bring them over at a time like this. Apart from that, she couldn't visit them regularly either!
"We should go back one more time before the New Year. I'll also bring them over once dad's better. Besides, our house has enough rooms for them anyway!"
"Alright, there's no need to hurry!" Alicia smiled as she held Frederick's hand. In fact, she was just carried away for a moment!
Followed by a round of applause, the
wedding then proceeded into its dinner session. Shortly, Victoria returned to her room and began to
change her clothes while eve one
else was occupied with their own matters. At that moment, she was light-headed due to the number of guests that were present and the countless ceremonies earlier.
As the sky grew dark, the wedding gradually progressed into the cocktail party. Victoria breathed a sigh of relief as she headed back to her room to change into a red-laced evening dress. She took a short rest before she rushed out again to entertain the guests.
When she finally had time for herself, she immediately took a break to chat with her friends. Sadly, it wasn't long before she was pulled to a side by Trevor. "I'd like you to meet some of my dearest friends!"
Chapter 673 2
"Good evening, gentlemen!"
Surprised by Victoria's unexpected beauty, Carson immediately slapped Trevor's shoulder and said, "Woah, you've really found yourself a jewel, I guess
we have ourselves another beautiful sister-in-law!"
Soon after, his eyes averted towards Alicia. "Hey, Alicia, you're so mean. You're keeping all the beauties within the family! Just look at Trevor, he got her again before we could! Frederick, why are we so unlucky?"
Alicia giggled while the other masters frolicked with Carson. As they laughed, the four of them simultaneously said, "Congratulations to the both of you!"
"Congratulations!"
"Thank you!"
After having a glass of wine together, they shared a pleasant conversation. On the surface, Victoria was beaming for the sake of Trevor's reputation. Shortly, Caroline came over and quietly pulled Alicia away. She placed her wineglass down as she said,
"You both go ahead, I'll be leaving to meet a friend."
At that moment, Victoria was slightly reluctant to be deeply involved in his circle of friends.
All of a sudden, a bright smile
emerged on Victoria's face as she walked over o a corner of the hall. Right then, she was more alive and cheerful than she first arrived at the wedding. Unexpectedly, the four men had noticed her sudden change of behavior with a single glance and their eyes fell upon Trevor who had been staring from a distance. Hence, Wyatt concurrently slapped Frederick on his back as he said,
"Trevor, you don't have to stick with us. Just go around and have fun!"
