Chapter 6
They didn't talk on the way home. Frederick sent her to the door and left.
As the same time in the hospital, Lindsay was extremely regretted. "Am I pregnant?"
"Yes! Congratulations Miss Crouch, you're pregnant for more than two months! But you are too thin and there is a chance of a miscarriage... You should be more careful in the future. Don't fall over! Remember to get your regular check-ups. It's best if you stay in the hospital for a few days!"
"Okay, thank you, doctor!" Excited, she turned around and grabbed Jeremy's hand. "Jeremy, did you hear that? We're having a baby!"
Jeremy nodded, then he snorted with a subtle expression, "Uhm!"
Alicia had inexplicably become a married woman. Every day, some weird messy thoughts would crawl into her head making her feel anxious.
"What's wrong?"
Was it because she was pregnant that she had become so sentimental?
As usual, she wanted to make coffee. When she tore a pack open, she thought about something and exchanged it for a pack of milk powder.
Her phone suddenly lit up. "Frederick?"
Her heart skipped a beat. She took a deep breath and pressed the answer button. "Hello, it's me!"
"Must be free on tomorrow night and weekends! We'll go home for a dinner!"
Before she even could open her mouth, he had hung up-
Alicia was speechless and almost stamped her foot. "D*mn it! D*mn it!"
Then, she got busy with work and she was in a great bustle all afternoon.
Mrs. Blanchard was quite happy about the marriage of Alicia and Frederick. When she heard that Alicia was going to have dinner at Frederick's house, she even wanted to prepare some gifts for her. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"Ally, love can't be treated as livelihood! But it can be cultivated! A man who is willing to be responsible can't be that bad! You have experienced so much recently, you should understand that in our society, women are always treated in a harsher way with less tolerance! But since you have gotten married, you should take marriage seriously. You can't make mistakes, do you understand? We don't have to be rich, just be safe!"
With a sigh, Mrs. Blanchard continued.
"Unfortunately, our family can no longer give you powerful support! But you two are destined to meet each other. If you really can't live with him, at least I will always wait for you. You are always welcomed by me!"
Knowing her mother's worries and concerns, Alicia knew that her mother definitely wanted to use this as an excuse to completely cut off the relationship between her and Jeremy. Otherwise, she would not have agreed to this marriage so hastily just because she was pregnant. Understanding her mother's efforts, she nodded vigorously.
"Mom, I will abide by my duty and will no longer have anything to do with Jeremy. I didn't do it before, and I won't do it in the future! I will be happy!"
Although she'd said so, she wasn't actually sure about it. As for Frederick, she could only let nature take its course! If it was really the Clements family, she was afraid that everything wasn’t up to her!
"Hey then, take time to buy some new clothes tomorrow. Buy the Seven brand you like. You shouldn't look too shabby when you see his family for the first time!" her mother said.
"Alright!"
Holding her mother's arm, Alicia felt a burst of inexplicable bitterness in her heart. "Seven brand was used to be her mother's favorite. She used to get herself a few new pieces every year, but over the past three years, she hadn't touched it. Was it too luxurious forthem now?"
