Chapter 1535
In the end, Wyatt chose to end everything, no matter how agonizing it was! He was no longer an ignorant boy. He must be responsible for his feelings and life!
"A woman like me?"
What kind of a woman was she? Ha...
With a mocking scoff, Waverly's heart began to bleed. Did a woman like her provoke him? How could he say such a thing?
With his meaningful gaze locked on him for a long period, Waverly suppressed all her emotions in the depths of her heart. "Wyatt, don't you think I'm dirty? The high and mighty Mr. Wyatt, how could you not have the guts to say it out loud?"
"Don't provoke me!"
Although he had the idea in mind and his thoughts were in a mess, subconsciously, Wyatt could sense how hurtful those words were!
Waverly, however, did not think so. She pressed on without giving him any chance to retreat.
"Wyatt, if you want to chase me away, say it again! If you were to step out of this door today, I hope you can keep your word and never come bothering me ever again, Mr. Wyatt. I won't disgust you even if I die one day!"
They would part ways and return to their respective paths!
Their eyes met, flashing with a determined glint. Their eyes swirled with rage as the light of fire splashed in all directions.
"I think you're dirty! Are you satisfied?"
With a low hiss, Wyatt's fists clenched and rattled. As soon as his words died away, he pulled the door open and stormed out of the room.
There was a loud bang as Waverly's tears rolled down her cheeks.
Her heart seemed to have been gouged out alive. Tears blurred her vision, but she did not make a sound. After clutching her clothes, she instinctively smoothed the wrinkles. The moment she turned around, all the tears on her face had been wiped away.
She changed back to the clothes she had worn when she had moved in. Waverly cleaned the house and returned everything to its original position, going to the extent of washing and drying the clothes she had worn before putting them in the closet. She didn't leave until eight o'clock in the evening and made sure that she didn't take anything with her.
When she arrived home, Waverly took a long shower to clean herself from head to toe. All the clothes she brought back were thrown into the trash can. It was only then she slumped onto the bed with a calm face. The moment she closed her eyes, her mind went blank.noveldrama
If he couldn't control himself, if she had a child...
On that day, he rushed straight to East Bannpool. In the private dining room, Wyatt chugged down a few bottles of wine and drank to the rare drunkness.
In the following few days, Wyatt was spotted exiting and leaving nightclubs. The photos of him dating celebrities and daughters of noble families made it to the headlines of entertainment magazines from time to time. There were several times Waverly caught a glimpse of the reported news, but all she did was gently close the cover or switch off her cell phone. With a calm face, she would habitually react by shoving a lotus seed into her mouth. As such, she would know what it felt like to be entangled with such a man.
Gradually, she adapted to the bitterness in her mouth as it faded day by day, just like her feelings for the shameless jerk.
Although her experiences over the past few days had not only caused her uncomfortableness, but also pain, Waverly dressed up well every day. She put on exquisite makeup and set up a rare small mirror on the dressing table. Every time she looked in the mirror, her lips would rise a little.
She would not allow herself to be unhappy. She must laugh.
That was why although Wyatt's scandal had spread far and wide, a smile would blossom across her face every day. Even if there were people around her who would occasionally discuss her being a young widow, she would often joke about it. She was the 'Black Widow' who had been abandoned and was unlucky. Even her colleagues did not believe her. Even if they knew her name and the 'Black Widow' rhythmed, they would tease her for having a completely different fate in comparison to her name, but she would not say a word.
One day after another, all Waverly knew was that the man deserved to be abandoned!
When it came to everything related to Wyatt, she didn't try to avoid it nor pay attention to it. Instead, she chose to ignore it indifferently.
On that day after an entire day's work, Waverly had just packed up her bag when her colleague, Xena, rushed over with a treacherous smile on her face.
"Miss Waverly, Miss Waverly!"
Raising her hand to push the box of colorful biscuits on the table away, Waverly gave her a sidelong glance.
"You took out your trump card? You wouldn't try to flatter me for no reason! Don't get me to keep you company in playing games, and don't get me to work overtime. If it's anything else, speak!"
At the thought of the helplessness of teaming up with Xena and helping her advance to new levels yet had been dragged behind with her lousy performance, Waverly was helpless. As someone who had never played mobile games, she only knew to shout. As a result of helping her play the game, Waverly started to grow terrified of mobile games.
"Haha, Miss Waverly, someone as competent as you should be more hardworking, don't you think? You're really something! We worked hard to the point of our fingers bent, but you're already leisurely sipping coffee by the side. If we didn't receive the same task, I would have suspected our boss was favoring you!"
Taking Waverly's arm, Xena giggled.
"Miss Waverly, could you dance? I remember you engaging in a professional conversation with the promoter when you received a dancing brochure."
"Dancing? For what?" Why would she ask such a question all of a sudden?
Her family had wanted to cultivate
her elegant temperament and
culture. When she was a child, it was compulsory for her to attend dance and piano classes, but with
lonely and quiet persona
ber
family did not force her into mastering the skill. It was why she learned the skill half-heartedly and was allowed to do whatever she wanted. She did not learn team dances. Most of the dances she came into contact with were solo
dances or partner dancers. Of course, it was one of the necessary
etiquette lessons, which was
required by her family, so she did
learn the dances well and passed the assessments!
"Miss Waverly, are you free at night? It took me a lot of effort to persuade my uncle into helping me get two invitation cards for the dance party. The party held in the five-star hotel is specially meant to serve as a social meetup between ladies of wealthy families, but there will be lots of handsome young men present. The only requirement is that the participants should acquire at least two types of dances. As it's a dance party, there is a condition that anyone who receives the invitation can't reject it three consecutive times for no reason, be it rejecting one or three people's invite! As for whether someone is keeping an eye on or there's a large number of participants, I don't know the specifics, but it's probably the case! Miss Wyatt, I know that you're knowledgeable and are not bothered by all this stuff. I begged Wynne to tag along in the first place! In the end, Wynne stood me up. You know how my dancing skills are a mess. Besides, if he can't control himself, if she has a child..."
Xena gently tugged at Waverly's arm.
"Miss Waverly, will you go with me? It's just for a while! The drinks and catering
are all free, at a five-star hotel! And I heard that there are prizes! The most important thing is..."
Noticing the look in her eyes, Waverly knew what she was thinking. The handsome young men!
To put it bluntly, there were a bunch of young masters from prestigious and affluent families around!
Waverly poked her forehead and went on to say.
"Alas, you've watched too many romantic dramas. Dream on! Xena, it's better to stay away from young masters. They're not easy to deal with! They're full of temptations and tricks. Haven't you heard of a sentence? The richer one is, the more one is afraid of being schemed against. With your character, aren't you afraid of being deceived?"
With a look at Wyatt, one knew how arrogant and conceited they were, plus, they were not to be trifled with!
"Sounds like you're any better! Only soft and gentle beauties like you would be deceived! Miss Waverly, let me tell the truth, I'm much safer than you! It's kind of a blessing to be ugly sometimes! Hmm..."
Pointing at the computer, Xena wore a wide grin as she continued to say. "Miss Waverly, come on. Keep me company in gaining some new experiences! It's a heavensent opportunity! I don't know if I have another chance in my life. I may be lucky enough to be chosen by a rich young fellow to be Cinderella for one night! Anyway, I've never dreamt of being Cinderella for a lifetime. I'm overjoyed to be one for one night! Tomorrow I'll return to work as a hardworking accountant!"
"Miss Waverly..."
Looking at her face full of expectation, it seemed that she longed to go. Although such parties were common to Waverly, Waverly was too embarrassed to reject her invitation once more at the thought of how her colleagues always stood up for
her when there were always conflicts.
"I can't do anything to you!"
"Yeah! Miss Waverly, you're the best!"
Turning around, she swept her gaze to notice Wynne coming in after the call at the door and raised her hands to pose for victory. "Wynne, you lost. I'll be going over with Miss Waverly today! Don't be jealous after we find ourselves a rich husband!"
"Don't be greedy! Be careful! I'll turn your cash cow into a pig..."
"How dare you! See if I won't shut up your mouth!"
If he couldn't control himself, if she had a child...
Seeing the two of them teasing each other, Waverly could not help but lift the
corner of her lips into a giggle. "Hehe!"
After the shift, the two ate some simple food to fill their stomachs. Xena brought her dress and shoes. Waverly did not return home and went straight to buy a new set of clothes instead. The two then booked a hotel room for an hour, took a shower, changed their clothes, and briefly tidied up. After touching up on their makeup in a makeup room, they took a taxi to the Sunshine International Hotel. The five-star hotel was magnificent. When they arrived at the entrance, what entered their sight was rows of luxury cars parked in the parking lot of the square by the door.
Xena's eyes shone as she was near to drooling.
"Miss Waverly, Miss Waverly. Is that a Rolls-Royce?"
"Wow, a Ferrari! It's yellow. How cool!"
Xena held Waverly's arm and didn't stop chattering all the way. At the door,
Waverly studied her with a smile and whispered.
"Xena, pay attention to your elegant and dignified manners!"
The implication was, "Don't make a fuss and embarrass yourself."
With her lips pursed, Xena shut her mouth as she straightened her body and
walked two steps forward. Waverly gracefully handed over the invitation card. The waiter raised his chin in another direction before the two of them knew that the banquet was hosted on the other side of the passage. They then turned to the
side. Right then, a mixed-race man who took the invitation spoke.
"Welcome to the Sunshine International Hotel! I'm honored for you two beautiful ladies to be able to come as invited. Thank you for attending our festival today. I hope
our activities will bring you good luck and happiness. Before you enter, you each will have to choose a number plate and take it with you. This is a pass for you two to enter
and leave. May I ask if you have a special number or a taboo?"
What do you think?
