Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1518

Wyatt raised his gaze and a sexy woman in red and gold came into sight. Wasn't that the woman next to him just now?

The woman was wearing a red strapless minidress that was elegant and a little fluffy. She wore a delicately- designed thin white coat. At first glance, you'd think she was dressed quite simply, but after a few more peeks you'd notice the little details and realize that she had put in a whole lot of effort into her attire.

She was obviously trying to win Wyatt's heart!

This woman wasn't just beautiful, but also smart!

That was Waverly's first impression of her! Stunning yet clever!

That woman seemed acquainted with Wyatt, but Waverly had never heard of her before

She couldn't help but narrow her eyes to examine the woman.

Fionne also noticed Waverly behind Wyatt. She was visibly stunned as she wondered who that woman behind Wyatt was. Did Wyatt come out here for her?

A trace of surprise flashed across her eyes, but the expression on her face remained unchanged. If she were any other woman, she'd want to get Wyatt back as soon as she could, and she may even start attacking Waverly for it. However, Fionne wasn't like any other woman. She didn't even ask about Waverly. She just spoke to Wyatt as if Waverly were invisible.

"Wyatt, what should I do? I'm not as skillful, and without your guidance, I have already lost everything on the table. If you don't come back, I may have to put myself on the table to repay my debt!"

With a few sentences, Fionne explained the reasons she disturbed him. She showed neither signs of hatred or jealousy, which made her seem generous and sensible! She had also mined a question for Wyatt. Wyatt's next move would determine his attitude toward Waverly!

Once again, Waverly was wowed by her intelligence!

But of course, the women around Wyatt had to be of a certain standard. Otherwise, they would be disposed of quickly!

However, her matter with Wyatt wasn't done yet, so Waverly subconsciously landed her gaze on Wyatt, too. She wanted to know his next move, too.

"Okay."

The anger in Wyatt's voice had totally vanished. He regained his usual coldness and replied as if nothing had happened.

"Let's go!" Wyatt said as he placed his hand on Fionne's waist.

Wyatt had intended to remove Fionne, but he eventually decided against it. He didn't want to deal with Waverly anymore.

Waverly stood frozen at the same spot for what seemed like ages before she finally came back to their senses. By the time that happened, Wyatt and Fionne had disappeared from sight. She wondered how things took such a turn. "Now what?"

"I think I've upset him a little too much!"

Thousands of questions suddenly flooded her mind. Waverly didn't know what to do! She walked toward the casino looking defeated, but before she stepped inside, she stopped dead in her tracks. She then stood there for another while before silently leaving Heaven Star Clubhouse-

The moment she turned away, Seth whispered into Wyatt's ear, "Wyatt, she's gone!"

Wyatt's hand twitched a little, but he didn't respond as he continued his gambling.

From that day on, Waverly knew that Wyatt was a dead end. She was still going to help Jake, but she didn't need Wyatt, she'd do it herself.noveldrama

got all the security footage she he

could and started looking at them one by one in hopes of finding something that could help Jake with his case.

She hadn't had a good night's rest for a whole two days. She talked to Liam about the case and found a few leads that may help Jake. They then separated as they tried looking into the clues, hoping that it would lead them to something big. However, intentions always look better on paper than in reality. After getting kicked out of the

neighborhood again, Waverly couldn't stop the tears from welling up in her eyes.

She had never felt so desperate before. She had finally seen how merciless a man could be!

She had found three possible witnesses, but they had all made it clear to her-they would not be testifying!

And they all rejected her for the same reasons - they weren't sure what they saw! They couldn't testify when they weren't sure!

They didn't even give her a chance to explain her purpose. They simply stated that they saw two people talking, Jake was returning the knife, and he wasn't attacking anyone.

She was then driven out of their houses. They even seemed disgusted as they asked her to stay away from them. Waverly knew they didn't want trouble, but she still felt anger and distress bubbling inside her. Regardless, she could do nothing about it.

These strangers' attitudes were worse than Wyatt's.

Waverly couldn't see any way out of this. She was in despair and disheartened as her tears hit the ground. She couldn't keep it in any longer.

They were all so unyielding and stubborn. Liam couldn't get anyone to help them either! There goes a saying, "The drop hollows the stone, not by force but by constant dripping," but they didn't have time for "constant dripping"! Perhaps one day they could really persuade some of the witnesses to testify in court if they kept on going, perhaps one day, the people would be touched by their sincerity, but by then, it would all be too late!

Waverly was both mentally and physically exhausted.

She jumped right in front of her computer the moment she got home. She went through all the documents again, but nothing. There was nothing else. She couldn't stop herself as she threw all the documents and information off her table.

"Ah-"

The papers scattered to the ground like huge, rectangular snowflakes. Stacey Galan's picture just so happened to land before Waverly. Ridiculous! She moved her gaze away from the picture and noticed a little bag on the table. Waverly suddenly deflated.

She had bought him the medicine to show off her sweetness!

Wyatt Johnson's cold face suddenly formed in Waverly's mind. She recalled how

he walked away with that sexy red lady, how he held onto her waist, how possessive he seemed of her, and how cold his glance was when he looked at Waverly.

"Is it too late?"

Would she ever escape him? If she returned, he'd never let her out of his sight. She'd never have the chance to leave him ever again!

Waverly understood that very well!

She shouldn't have threatened him, but-

She never wanted to hurt him. She never wanted to do any of that. She was just

so anxious, and the words just escaped her mouth.

Waverly patted her mouth as she picked up the paper from the floor. Tears poured down her cheeks.

It was so tiring. She really wanted to be selfish, just this once! She didn't want to deal with this anymore! She just wanted to ignore everything and live her life.

It was such a simple task. Why wasn't she making any breakthroughs yet?
