Chapter 24: Stares

After everything that occurred at the jewelry spot, Kate requested that they visit the cafe fit an afternoon tea, which they did agreed to and walked out of the mall.

“I will have coffee,” Andre said to the waitress.

“Get me green tea”

“I will have same.”

They had the tea in silence and after that, they made their way to Anita’s apartment.

Thomas had not left Anita’s apartment, even after sitting there for hours.

Hearing some sound, he raised his head from the starring and smiled dangerously.

Raising his fist, he checked the time and came down from the car.

Anita, Kate and Andre never expected to see Thomas, so on seeing him, Anita and Kate was in shock.

Only Andre remained calm like he had expected him and didn’t care. That expression are Thomas real deep as he wondered where Andre’s guts were coming from.

“Oh God! Kate I told you we may meet him. Look now, how do I get out of this situation?” Anita whispered very worried about what would be the outcome of the situation they were in.

She felt like she was the one constantly causing issues in her relationship with Thomas.

“Anita relax. You didn’t do anything wrong with Andre, plus I went out with you guys, so why on earth would you be bothering yourself?”

“You ain’t understand Kate.” Anita responded, her fist shaking.

Seeing this, Kate hissed and came down from the car, walked to the other passenger door and opened it. She then drew Anita out.

“Let this be the last time I see you shaking because of a man. He us just a man. A freaking man.” she said and closed the car door.

Andre came down from the car fearlessly and led the ladies towards the door where Thomas was already at.

“Thanking you for taking her out and bringing her home successfully. I hope you had a great time. But don’t you think it’s time you leave her to spend some freaking time with her own man?” Thomas hard tone sounded in the space.

“Umm Andre. Thanks for today! I think you have to be on your way now.” Kate said apologetic.

“It’s fine. I understand.” he said, turned back and walked out. Upon reaching his car, he turned back, looked at Anita for sometime before entering his car and left.

Two hours later inside Anita’s apartment.

The atmosphere had never being as weird before. Thomas was not interested in giving Anita listening ears as he concentrated in his phone.

After sometime, he stood up and left, shutting the door real hard.

Anita and Kate had not expected such hence the shock.

“But this is not right. Why is he giving you the silent treatment?” Kate asked Anita, a but disappointed.

“Never mind his attitude. I believe that he will come around.” Anita surprisingly covered up for him.

“Hmm no problem. As long as you’re safe, I think we will be cool.” Kate responded.

“What are you going to do about your love life right now Kate?” Anita asked. She was worried for her friend. Even though Kate had boldly admitted that she was done, it didn’t mean that she does not feel lonely.

“Good question Anita. You know, I have been thinking about it for quite sometime. You know how much I hate being alone. I think I have to see someone. But who?”

“Hmm. Let’s think of something.”

“Something like what?”

“A blind date! What kind of men do you want now.”

“I think I want a stronger kind of man. A man that wont cheat on me. A honest one.”

“Nice choice. I will talk to Thomas about it. He is from the force. I’m sure he has many brothers who needs a woman in their life.”

“Oh Anita! Thank you so much my love. I hopes he chooses a better guy for me. If I don’t like the one he chooses, I hope I can get the chance to reject him?”

“Of course Kate! Haha!”

“In that case, I accept. Deal!”

Later that evening, Anita sat in her couch with Kate as they kept listing about their lives when they heard a knick on their door.

“I wonder who it is.” Anita said, and made her way to go open the door.

“Thomas?”

“Hey!” he responded, waving his hand.

Anita was surprised at how calm he was looking that evening. She never expected to see him at least not at that time.

“I am fine Thomas. Is everything okay?”

“Won’t you let me in first?”

“Oh I’m sorry. Please come in.”

Thomas then walked in and sat down on her couch.

“Hi!” Kate waved at him.

He responded with his head.

“This is great. I’m so happy you came.” Anita said and rushed to get him a glass of drink.

“Thank you!”

“Umm I think I need to leave now. Anita, do enjoy yourself. I will meet you tomorrow.” Kate said as she stood up to leave.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

She didn’t see more to be there. She had chosen to stay that long because she thought that Thomas wouldn’t come and she didn’t want Anita to worry about anything. But seeing as he was there already, she had no reason to stay.

Anita on the other hand was feeling a bit bad. She clearly understood why her girlfriend was leaving, but she too never wished to see Kate looking so lonely. She was leaving her house to no one in particular.

“I will ensure you get a partner Kate and a good one at that.” she promised Kate within herself.

“Have a great night Kate!” Anita wished her and hugged her tight.

Kate then walked out.

“You should prepare. We will eat out for dinner.” Thomas voice sounded.

“Okay I will. Give me sometime.

Kate entered a cab that drove her so quick to her apartment. On reaching her apartment. Kate sure someone she had never dreamt if seeing again.
