Standing in front of the mirror, Kiara couldn’t help but feel like she was the luckiest woman in the world. The reason was not the gorgeous long red gown that she was wearing complemented by the perfect hair and makeup. Something else had brought a smile to her face. Her baby.

Yes, the beginning of the day had been frightening, when she thought that she lost her pup due to ingesting that drug but now she could see that their unborn baby was safe.

Today was the start of the second month of her pregnancy and she could see that her bump had grow bigger.

“Okay but is everything alright?” The young Luna felt like something was off. Since she had opened her eyes this morning her mate had been acting calm and cool but she knew there was a hidden tension within the pack.

“Yes, everything is fine. Just stay away from anyone you don’t know. Stay with our family members and don’t go anywhere alone. Orion can copy anyone’s face. I don’t want you to get into any trouble. Do you understand me?”

“Okay” Kiara smiled, before walking away.

While there was a happy and cheerful atmosphere in the pack, some responsible individuals were still engaged in running, so there was no shortage of anything.

They were the Beta and Gamma females who had been Iris’ closest friends available at the time of the ceremony. They assisted her with her dress, makeup, and the anxiousness that every woman has before her wedding.

Everything else, including the rings, drinks, cake, and food, had been double-checked because the wedding wa due to start any minute. Alpha Harvey smiled when he saw his beautiful mate walking down the aisle with Grandfather Stephen.

In Iris’ Father’s absence, the old wolf had taken up the responsibility and was pleased to walk his granddaughter down the aisle. The old man went away, leaving her on stage with Harvey.

Iris smiled brightly at Xavier, who stood a few feet away with a pleased expression. Xavier’s little sister, for whom he had once changed many diapers, was now a grown woman.

She had met her destined mate, who was madly in love with her. She was already mated to Harvey and was now formally wedded.

However, he also warned that once the drug was removed from Kiara’s system, the pain that Orion experienced would cease and he would be able to heal himself quickly.

“Ahh!” Jennifer cried holding her belly which alerted everyone. Iris and Harvey who had been standing next to her reached over and each grabbed one of her arms.

“She has started having contractions! Let’s take her in the pack house,” Lena suggested, which caused Kaiden to panic more. He hadn’t been expecting the baby today because the due date wasn’t for another week. He nodded as he pulled his weeping mate into his arms. A few close relatives and ranking pack members quickly followed him.

Xavier swiftly mind-linked the Doctor who was fortunately attending the wedding and would be quickly followed by his team.

Kaiden’s anxiety was evident in his large clipped steps toward their bedroom. It was going to be Jennifer and his first pup! The soon-to-be father had no clue whether he should be excited or worried about his mate going into labor since her screams terrified him.

Kiaden was advised to leave the room after he placed Jennifer on the bed. The door closed in front of him but he stood restlessly on the other side waiting to be aloud back in. Xavier came to a halt in the corridor the others gathered outside of the Beta couple’s closed door.

“Don’t worry, Kaiden. Jen will be fine. Just wait for the pup” Iris smiled as she placed her hand on Kaiden’s shoulder. He nodded and took a deep breath, but nothing could calm him down while Jennifer was screaming.

Xavier observed everyone’s concerned looks. Even the non ranked pack members who had come to see their Beta female. Jennifer was like a bee, always busy making everyone happy and the favorite among everyone in the pack house.

Everyone’s heart had been touched by her generosity and gentle personality, including the Omegas, which was why this type of worry was inevitable. That’s when Xavier grimaced since he couldn’t find Kiara anywhere.

Lena, where is Kiara?’ Xavier mind-linked the Gamma female.

Umm, the Luna was suffering from morning sickness, which ruined her gown. So I asked her to rest in my room.

Wait a minute, Alpha, l’l go check on her” she offered.

“Lena, you stay here. I’ll go check on Kiara,” he said. As soon as he turned to leave an annoying ugly face appeared in front of him.

“Seems something happening here,” she remarked, trying to look over the Alpha’s shoulder while he blocked her way like a living boulder. Xavier mentally chuckled at witnessing her act. Jennifer’s screams were echoing through the whole pack house.

Petra asked what was happening? He was barely able to stop himself from grabbing her by the hair and throwing her over the balcony.

Everyone’s gaze was drawn to the Alpha and his ex b***h of a mate. The tension between them was so intense that the Omegas and others non ranked wolves quickly excused themselves in dread.

‘I think you should stay here, Xavier. I will go and check on the Luna, Tyler offered, passing by both of them to the his room.

“What are you doing here? Stay away from my family matters!” Xavier growled, watching her step close until she was a few inches away from him.

“I have come to see whether the pack will rejoice when Jennifer gives birth or shed tears of grief over Kiara’s miscarriage.”

“What?! Luna Kiara had a miscarriage?!” Lena gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. Her eyes were wide in shock and she wasn’t sure how to react at that moment.

When she had been with Kiara earlier that morning she had not said anything about it.

Every relative and pack member who heard Petra’s comment was taken aback. Iris and Harvey both stared at Xavier in shock, who refused to stop looking away from his ex.

Was this the reason that no one had seen the pack’s Luna at the wedding?

“Alpha,” Kaiden, who was now also scared of being Petra’s claim, truly became panicked. He had thought that Cole’s herbal remedy had cured Kiara.

“Don’t worry, guys. My mate and my baby are fine. Kiara is experiencing morning sickness so she is resting in the room” Xavier replied casually while shoving his hand into his pocket.

to death for claiming that my heir is dead!” Xavier declared. For a split second, the blonde woman was taken aback by the Alpha’s calm expression.

What did he say? Kiara hadn’t had a miscarriage?! It was a lie! That drug had no cure! Petra was not about to lose this battle since Alpha Xavier was the best at pretending and hiding things.

She decided to expose him in front of his own pack members. She was perfectly poised before speaking.

“I had no idea it was a felony to expose the truth. You’re concealing your mate’s miscarriage in order to keep your Alpha position. What a shame you lost your heir at a time like this.

That my poor little replacement couldn’t handle the fact that the surrogacy contract she had with you will expire in three months” Petra added, raising her voice so that everyone could hear her clearly.

Everyone’s faces turned pale when Petra revealed the surrogacy contract. Lena’s mouth hung open as she stared at Kaiden who did not appear surprised.

She realized that since Kiaden knew about the surrogacy contract that meant that he had made it Tyler was also aware that the bond between the Alpha and Luna was nothing more than a contract!

Like wildfire people were ready to mind-link each other about the contract but a poisonous look from Beta Kadien froze everyone in their place. They lowered their heads in fear. There was only one punishment for a rumor monger, death.

“What the hell is this crazy treacherous b***h talking about!” Stephen roared in anger as he entered the hallway with the other elders. He had run up to see Jennifer but his ears were surprised to hear Petra’ statement. Xavier looked at his Grandpa and the other elders. They were not only the Sirius Bright Pack’s elders but also the King’s elders.

lsn’t that true, Alpha Xavier?” One of the King’s elders questioned. This time the elder’s attitude was on another level since he finally had something that they could use against Xavier. The Alpha Prince dirty secret was exposed!

They were now planning to compel Alpha Prince Xavier to take the post of Alpha King as well as another chosen mate. If he did not comply, he would be forced to resign as the Alpha of the Sirius Bright Pack. Not to mention the royal punishment he was about to receive for deceiving the King and his people by producing an heir through surrogacy!

“Ohh, I am really sorry Xavier. Was this something that I should not have mentioned in front of others?” Petra’s brown eyes showed fake worry but in her heart she was smiling in glee at witnessing her enemy’s long awaited fall from grace.

“What is she saying, Xavier?” Stephen asked his grandson. Xavier’s silence was scaring him. The old wolf was twins with Alpha King Renard, he was not ready to lose face in front of those low class elders who were now pointing at his grandson.

“l am sorry it happened to you, Xavier:” Just before Grandpa could get any closer to him, Petra closed the distance between herand Xavier reading up to touch his cheek lovingly.

“Obviously she did not want the surrogacy contract to end. I wonder if Kiara intentionally killed your pup so that she could stay in this wealth and luxury..”

“Shut the fkup, you fg we!!” Xavier snapped, grabbing Petra’s neck.

“Please, please help me,” Petra cried. This time the blonde woman was prepared. She dodged in time and hid behind the elders pretending to be a weak fragile woman who was being assaulted by the Alpha.

“Please don’t kill me, Xavier. I won’t tell anyone the truth,” she pleaded, shedding tears while holding the King’s most trusted elder’s hand while shivering like a little girl.

“You can’t hurt Petra for hiding your deeds, Alpha Xavier, ” the elder said. This caused Petra to smirk at her former mate.

“You w***e!!” Xavier gritted his teeth as he tried to reach for her neck.

“Don’t do it Alpha Xavier. If you continue on with this then we will need to call the Alpha King” the elder cautioned, hiding Petra further behind him.

“I will kill you for taking the side of this woman! Trust me all you all will beg me to make you a rogue but that’s not the punishment you all will get!” Xavier was boiling with indignation, stopped and glad at the elders.

But his green furious eyes remained fixed on the b***h who continued to shed crocodile tears. All the old wolves turned pale in fear exchanging looks. Petra was not trustworthy and siding with her was a risk that could lead to a death sentence for

rebelling against the Alpha Prince.

“I can prove my claims,” Petra stepped forward just as she saw her plan beginning to go south as those old wolves grew scared due to Xavier’s threat. Everyone’s eyes snapped to the blonde beauty.

“How?” Stephen asked.

“I have the surrogacy contract, she smirked.
