I wanted to strangle my cousin. She did all this, made me suffer for a few hours without seeing my mate, and my fucking wolf was agitated. I had to go out for a run for half an hour and came back to take a shower.
I knew I would see Nirvana tonight at our celebration, and I was excited to tell my pack and the people close to me that I was lucky to have the most amazing mate.
My pack members started to arrive at the pack house, which was elegantly decorated with black and golden accents- a chandelier hung low on the ceiling, candelabras and fresh flower arrangements were on the tables, classical music played in the background, and a red carpet was spread on the stairs.
“Well, look at you. You clean up pretty well. I’m glad you decided to trim your beard.” Kailin grinned at me, and she wore a beautiful white dress tonight.
“You look fantastic, Kailin.”
“Wait until you see Vana.” She patted my back. “Nice party. I’m happy for you.”
When she was gone, I welcomed our guests. And then the entire place went silent.
My gaze landed on the woman I’d longed to see. My jaw dropped.
Consider me stupefy, but she was fucking exquisite and gorgeous in a green dress, which made her skin look elegantly soft and glowing, and her eyes stood out from the light makeup on her face.
Wearing red lipstick should be a sin for her, and no woman left me speechless until she came into my life.
The silence was electric. My heart pounded so hard I even heard it.
We stared at each other in unblinking moments as Nirvana made her way downstairs. I wanted to come to her, take her hand, and kiss it, but my feet were rooted to the ground.
The breath I had been holding came out in a rush as she stood before me, smiling. She looked even younger than twenty-one.
I chuckled as she playfully touched my chin to close my mouth.
“You look hot, Alpha.”
I swallowed as I tried to process the words I wanted to tell her, but I only came up with as honestly as possible. “You’re fucking beautiful.”
“Thank you.”
“I mean it, Nirvana.” I held her hand and kissed it, causing her to giggle.
“I know.” She raised her hand and caressed my cheek. “You look extravagant in your tux. You can just stand at the corner, and I can look at you all day and not get tired of it.”
“I love seeing you naked, but this dress is perfect for you.” I put my free hand on her lower back so I could look at her eye-to-eye.
“Thank you. It took me almost three hours to pick the perfect dress to impress you, and the color matches your eyes.”
Huh. She chose the color on purpose. I was flattered. “I’m beyond impressed, sweetheart.”
Most of our guests had arrived, including Califf, Shadow, and Zarah. Alpha Frye and his sister Evelyn made it tonight. Of course, our party wouldn’t be completed without Case.

“May I have your attention, please?” The music paused, and the house went silent as Uncle Lennox started.
“When I lost my brother, James, and his wife, a part of me went with him, but every time I saw my nephew, I knew he would protect the legacy of his parents. Our pack may not be bigger, but this is family. This is everything a pack should be with one goal. To protect and be with each other during tough times. Tonight is a special night for White Moon Pack and the people we cared about.”
I looked at Nirvana while Uncle Lennox was giving his short speech. She was stunning, with a smile on her lips.
“Tonight, I’m standing before you to congratulate my nephew, Knight, the alpha of the White Moon pack, and his mate, Nirvana, and welcome her to our pack.”
The room filled with applause.
I assisted Nirvana up for the oath. The three elders, Lucian, Duncan, and Antoine, joined and served as our witnesses.
“Just follow my lead.” We didn’t have time to rehearse, but oath-taking wasn’t that complicated.
“Nirvana, put your hand on your mate’s and the other on the holy book of Moon Goddess.”
She did as she was told to.
“Alpha Knight, do you swear to be faithful to your mate, Nirvana, to protect her, to guide her and devote yourself to her and the White Moon Pack and uphold the laws and justice?”
“I swear.”
“Nirvana Thorne, do you swear to be faithful to our alpha, Knight Blackwell, to protect his dignity, be his light, devote yourself to him and the White Moon pack, and uphold the laws and justice?”
“I swear.”
“By the power vested in me as the head elder, and witness by Elders Lucian, Duncan, Antoine, and Case of Roadside Pack, I proclaimed you mates, and on behalf of our late luna, Calista, we welcome you as our new Luna.”
Uncle Lennox gave me a blade. I made a small cut on my thumb and signed the certificate with my blood. I helped Nirvana and did the same thing on her thumb. As soon as she pressed her thumb beside mine, our prints formed together as one.
I took two flutes and gave one to my mate.
“Congratulations to Alpha Knight and Luna Nirvana!”
I raised my flute to our guests and took a sip. “Good evening, everyone. Thank you all for coming. Our elders, pack members, friends, and allies. From myself and my untiring Luna, I welcome you all for this wonderful celebration of our union. Thank you very much, and enjoy the night.”
Nirvana and I shook hands with the elders, and she hugged her grandfather.
I offered my arm, and she took it as we walked downstairs to entertain our guest and then dance later.
“Congratulations, Alpha. How’s life with a mate.” Califf smiled from ear to ear, telling me that he was right.
“Fine. Now shut that smirk off your face. It’s ugly.” I offered my hand, and he grabbed it as we gave each other a brotherly hug.
“I told you so.” Shadow kissed me on the cheek. “And I saw your jaw drop on the floor.”
“Thank you for coming.” Nirvana and Shadow kissed each other’s cheeks.
“I wouldn’t miss it, Vana,” said Califf. “And you look fantastic.”
“Yeah. No wonder,” Shadow teased me.
“You guys, enjoy.”
I took Nirvana as we went to Alpha Frye. “I’m glad you made it.”
“You both deserve this,” he said as he gave me a gift.
“You don’t have to.”
“That is important to both of you,” Evelyn said. “I found a special book with English translation.”
“That’s fantastic. Thank you.” Nirvana hugged Evelyn. I felt it in my guts that they had some connections.
“Ladies and gentlemen, our alpha and luna.”
“May I have this dance, my luna?” I offered my hand to my mate, and she gripped it delightedly.
We went to the center, and the orchestra played a classic love song.
I placed my hand on her back, and we began dancing. “I thought you didn’t know how to dance.”
“I always wanted to be a ballerina.”
“You’d be perfect in a pink tutu.”
She tried hard not to laugh loudly, but her eyes danced in humor. “You think so?”
“Yes, sweetheart. You have elegant legs.”
Some couples, including Califf and Shadow, joined us in the ballroom.
“Now you’re officially the Luna of this pack. You are my behalf and my equal.”
“You’re still my boss. I won’t change that fact.”
“Very well.” I closed our gap and pressed her body against mine. She linked her hands behind my back, and I leaned over to whisper, “I have something to tell you.”
“You can just link it to me so no one can hear it but me.”
I did as she said, “I want you completely naked after this.”
“Sorry to interrupt, Alpha Knight. May I have the honor to dance with Luna Nirvana?”
