All too late for his love

Chapter 140

She didn't want her friend, with whom she'd gone through life and death, to be so depressed.

"Matthew, stop! Stop, alright? You'll regret it! You'll regret it for sure!"

As time ticked by, everyone could only march onwards. The most terrifying part of being alive was regret. She didn't want Matthew to regret his actions. However, he wasn't giving himself the chance to repent.

Willow's voice got softer and softer until pain prevented her from even opening her mouth.

Darkness took over and swallowed her whole.

Willow thought her life had ended just like that.

She hadn't expected that she was still alive.

A bucket of cold water was poured onto her. The cold shocked her and she opened her eyes slowly.

Cold water touched the wounds on her back, making it hurt so much it felt as though she'd been burnt. Willow tried to hug herself out of reflex to relieve the pain. However, she was tied tightly by the rope. She couldn't even comfort herself.

"Willow, tell me! Why did you hire someone to kill Willa?"

Matthew stood tall. The tense air around him made him seem like a harbinger of death from the depths of hell.

Willow felt like she didn't know him at all.

Indeed, he wasn't the Matthew that she remembered.

If he wasn't Matthew, who could he be?

He... he was the devil.

"I didn't!" Willow shook her head softly and continued, "I didn't hire anyone to kill her. Wilhelmina is framing me!"

Upon seeing that she was still trying to shift the blame onto Wilhelmina, Matthew felt the blood in his veins boil. He roared, "Willow, you won't own up to it even at the brink of death!"

Without any hesitation, he turned around and got into the car again. He stepped on the gas and made her tolerate another round of inhuman torture.

As she was drifting in and out of consciousness, Matthew's car finally stopped. Willow thought that this torture had come to an end. He opened the door and walked to her coldly.

"Speak! Tell me why you wanted to hurt Willa like that! Willow, I'm giving you your last chance. If not, today will be the anniversary of your death!"

Why would she want to harm Wilhelmina?

She didn't know herself. What could she say?

- Willow didn't want her death anniversary to be this time next year. However, she couldn't own up to something she hadn't done.

She could only shake her head and exclaim, "I didn't! Wilhelmina is framing me!"

The last shred of Matthew's patience was gone. He sneered "Since you're yearning to die, I'll grant you

that wish!"

"Cut the rope off!"

Upon receiving Matthew's instructions, his men cut the rope on his car.

He got in quickly and turned the car around, before Willow.

Realizing Matthew's intentions, Willow's expression changed.

He wanted to run over her!

What a horrible monster time was!

They had only said goodbye for a few months. The gentleman who had gone through hell with her, and was as generous as a man could be-had become someone entirely
