Accidentally Married

“Xavier get in here” Jessica screamed at the top of her voice. After they had come back from having fun which was Xavier made her do more exercises and she hated it work passion.

Coming back home she had decided to refresh and then go to bed because she was not going to do any single exercise again. It seemed as if he was obsessed with the exercise.

“Get in here” she screamed again this time a pain shooting through her whole body down her stomach to her legs.

“What is it?” Xavier entered with a worried expression and speed in his legs.

“My water just broke now” she exclaimed as she watched the trickling drops of liquid down her legs.

“Your water?” Xavier asked with a panicked expression.

He had been studying so intently and practicing for this moment but being faced with the real situation he could not help but panic. “Stay calm” he finally found his voice to say.

“I am calm but you need to be calm because you look terrified,” she tells him walking towards him.

Seeing his fear she knew she had to be strong for both of them. “I am not afraid at all” he lets out in a squeak.

He shook his head and then nodded before turning on his heel to do what she had requested of him. “Be fast” she shouted after him and his fast walk turned into a panic run.

He went down with the baby bag they had prepared a month before the expected date of delivery and went down to get a driver ready to drive them.

“What is the rush young master?” Roselle said stopping him as he ran around the house.

“Jessica’s water just broke can you get a driver ready while I go bring her down the stairs?” he asked giving her the bag.

“Yes definitely,” she said walking away quickly.

He turned around and climbed up and entered the room. “What took you so long” she said in a groan.

“I am sorry,” he said taking her up in his arms and walking out.

“Wait wait I need to have a change of clothes”

“Your clothes do not matter now. I am sure you would have to change into a hospital to be after all” he said as he continued walking down the corridor.

“Call the gynecologist” she muttered as she tried to manage the pain shooting through her body.

“As soon as we get to the car I would do that,” he told her.

He had regained his composure and she was glad that she did because she could not manage the pain anymore and be the one in charge of the situation like she started. She wanted the pain to stop and for her to hold her baby in her hands.

“We will soon be there okay?” Xavier said as he dropped her in the car and closed the door.

He turned to the other side of the car and slid in beside her. “Let us go”

“Do you wish to stay in the delivery room with her?” one of the nurses asked Xavier.

It had been over an hour since they had gotten to the hospital and Jessica had been groaning in pain. She had hurled promises of never allowing Xavier to touch her unless he had a vasectomy done.

“Yes I do”

Jessica had thrown a lot of punches and bites into his skin at him but he still wanted to be there with her all through the process of her birthing their child.

“Come this way”

Finally, after a long time, the doctor said she was now fully dilated and ready to give birth to the baby. Although she had offered the process of a cesarean section to her she had declined saying she wanted to try and birth the baby.

“How are you doing?” Xavier whispered holding on to her face as he walked to her.

“The daddy is here,” the nurse who brought him in said to the doctor.

“We can begin now,” the doctor said out loud and everyone nodded as if in agreement with the doctor’s order.

“Daddy I need you to help comfort and encourage the baby,” she told him and Xavier nodded at her before facing Jessica.

“You are so brave and I am so proud of you” he whispered to her as he bent to kiss her forehead.

“I am glad we are having this baby together” she murmured as slowly as she could.

“Okay mummy, I will need you to push a little for me,” the doctor said and Xavier’s hand found her hands and held onto it tightly.

“I know you can do it” he murmured to her before kissing the back of her hand.

“I can do it,” she said after he closed her eyes and pushed.

“That is marvelous but I want you to give it a little more effort than now. Okay?” the doctor said and Jessica nodded. She pushed with her whole might.

“Good job,” Xavier said kissing her hand once again.

“Okay can we do that once again?” she said to Jessica again.

“I don’t think I can,” Jessica said with her energy draining rapidly from her.

“Of course you can. I believe in you. I know you can” Xavier said the words of encouragement shooting out of his mouth at once.

“Once more and we should be done,” the doctor said. Jessica pushed and pushed three more times before the cry of the baby filled the room.

“It’s a baby boy. Congratulations Mummy and Daddy” the doctor said before standing up to clean up the baby by the table.

“Can daddy come to check the baby to ensure everything is intact?” the doctor said.

“Xavier?” Jessica said when she noticed he did not move from his initial position.

“I am so proud of you,” he said instead of standing up to the doctor’s request. “You have done so well” he added his voice almost cracked.

“Go see the baby” she whispered. He nodded and stood up going towards the baby. He came back a few moments later with the baby wrapped in a cloth.

“Do you have a name already?” the doctor asked.

“Joshua Dawson Delgado”
