Accidentally Married

Branch One Hundred and Five

“Now I am deeply invested in your tale,” Ethan said dropping his glass onto the table.

“So we parted ways without knowing each other but I knew him. Who does not know the Xavier Delgado? Then we met again at the courthouse once again. This time I approached him because why not? We decided to get married at the courthouse we had met twice”

Jessica did not want to skip out on the most important part of the story which was the courthouse. The reason they knew each other was because of the courthouse. It had to be a part of the story for sure.

“I’m in love with your love,” Ethan said his eyes twinkling.

“Such a touching story isn’t it? Jessica?” Xavier said.

He was amazed at her incredible quickness in the formulation of such a tale.

“It happened to me but I still find it very cute,” Jessica said running her hand over his arm and smiling.

“Yes, Maria?” Ethan said as he watched Maria enter the room and wait for him.

“Dinner is being served now, chairman,” Maria said with a bow before turning around to excuse herself. “I guess this is our cue to have our bellies filled up?”Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ethan stood up and began to walk towards the dining room. He sat at the edge of the table with Xavier and Jessica sitting on the right of him.

“I just had them prepare this meal,” Ethan told them as they sat down.

“It is a whole feast,” Jessica said loving the length and breadth of the table as it was full of different kinds of meals.

“Oh well, to be honest, I wanted to brag about how rich I am,” Ethan said with laughter. Jessica joined in the laughter.

“I do not think there was any need for that, your house is already magnificent, and thank you for the meal,” Jessica complimented looking around the house.

“I must say Jessica you have a good sense of judgment. Unlike your husband here. I do hope you will teach him and by the time I see the both of you next” Ethan said as her took the fork to his mouth.

Jessica was curious about what he could want her to change in the life of the perfect young master of the Delgado family. She knew she was arrogant but were not all the rich people the same? He had shown her a side of him that she could not believe existed and here they both were sitting side by side.

“I do hope when I see you next you will have taught him how to be a proper gentle man and have good judgment,” Ethan said.

“Oh, Ethan I think you are mistaken”

“Am I now?” Ethan asked.

“Of course,” Jessica said. ‘What are you trying to do Jessica?’ she asked herself as she felt her mind brewing with ideas.

“Then what is the truth then?”

“Well, my husband here has a good sense of judgment. I guess it’s easy for you to misunderstand him because he does not know how to express himself that well” Jessica explained.

Ethan stared at her as Xavier’s head slowly turned to face her. With both men’s eyes on her, she could not help but feel conscious. She diverted her eyes so she didn’t have to look at them both.

‘What was that just now?’ Xavier asked himself.

‘She loves him’ Ethan concluded within him.

For the rest of the dinner, Ethan teased Jessica about her love for Xavier while Xavier remained silent all through. He was wondering if she was just a good actress to be able to portray her emotions as such or if it was that she just was telling the truth.

They had now moved to the living room and Jessica was the one carrying the conversation with Ethan while Xavier remained absent-minded.

“Why don’t we sign the contract? I can see that both of you are living the life. If only my children could do the same” Ethan said looking towards Xavier.

He made no movement at all and stood in stillness. Jessica saw this and put her hands over his. He bolted to life and looked her way.

“Honey, Ethan has agreed to sign the contract,” she said her expression asking him if he was okay. She hoped he would be able to see her emotions in her words.

“Oh yeah,” he said pulling out his hand from underneath hers. “So sorry my mind is wandering a lot because of the news I got from the office today” Xavier lied.

He was shocked at his lie as well. He knew himself as an honest person but seeing the way he easily lies he questioned his integrity. ‘It was Jessica that caused this. I would have done pretty well if she wasn’t here’ he thought to himself.

“So if Jessica did not come over I would have been bored spending time with you?” Ethan asked with a chuckle.

“I wouldn’t have given him the contract then,” Ethan said facing Jessica while teasing her too.

“I am so sorry about that” Xavier rubbed his hand over his face. What was he doing allowing his thoughts to run him and almost cost him a deal?

“Better be,” Ethan said as he tapped away on his phone and put it beside his ears. “Bring in the documents,” he said in a commanding tone.

A man hurriedly came in to drop off the document and waited for further instructions. Ethan sent him away with a wave of his hand. He bowed and left immediately.

“Here” he put it in front of Jessica who passed it along to Xavier.

“You would have to sign here,” Xavier said bringing out the document to meet an already signed document. His party had signed too.

“I and Dawson have signed and your work was just to pick it up” Ethan explained. “Dawson told me how much of a workaholic you are and how he wants to give you a break so you can spend some time with your wife here. I hear you have not gotten time to go on your honeymoon since you got married?” Ethan finished with a gasp.

It finally dawned on Xavier what his grandfather had done there. It was slightly annoying but he found a part of him thankful to his grandfather.

“So I was tricked into going for a holiday?” he asked trying to make light of the situation. “Well I guess it was a good idea” he let himself finish.

“Yes it was”
