Branch One Hundred and Fifty Four
Olivia was startled she did not see Xavier come in. “What do you mean cry? We were only having a mature conversation and she went to report me to you? Just wait I will soon have a husband of my own whom I can report to too” she saw and Xavier sighed.
He wondered deep within himself what gibberish it was that she was saying and then took a deep breath.
“She did not need to tell me. I saw her with my own eyes and heard the conversation you had with her” he tells her and waits for her to make a case. He had been against his grandfather bringing in the woman but he did not want to be seen as inconsiderate when she had accepted his aunt with open hands.
“We don’t get to choose our families because we get born into them unexpectedly,” Xavier said and she turned to him confused as to what he was trying to say.
“Yeah, but we should be good to them anyway” Olivia replies.
“You think so?”
“Yeah, they are supposed to be the people who would stick with us no matter what it is that happens to us” she explains and takes a full spoon of her breakfast into her mouth.
“So why are you the way you are?” Xavier asked and she began choking on her food.
“Careful now,” Xavier said dropping the cup of water in her front. Her hand hurried to pick up the glass and she chugged down the water with wide eyes.
“What do you mean by that?” she countered immediately she felt a slight bit of relief. “That is a grave accusation” she added and Xavier snorted before taking his seat to breakfast.
“You know how you try to milk Jessica dry by taking all her money because she is kind enough to give it to you every time? That thing you do is not what families do to each other” he said casually buttering his toast.
“I am your senior and you would treat me with respect” Olivia shouted when she did not what to say to defend herself.
“I believe that respect only goes to those who are due of it. If you felt like I was throwing disrespect at you then I guess you don’t deserve it”
Olivia was shocked. She had never heard Xavier talk she knew at that moment that she preferred the silent Xavier to this one who suddenly had a lot to say concerning her relationship with her niece.
“Olivia,” he said catching her attention as her eyes roamed the whole room with confusion. She pulls her eyes and fixes it on him.
“My wife won’t be giving you a single dime this time around,” he tells her and she in response hiccups. “I will make sure of it” he added in a whisper that made her shake a little in her seat. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
“I was not asking for mo…” she begins but trails off when she sees his hand up in the air gesturing for her to stop.
“I heard everything, there is no need to lie about it”
Olivia Stood up and stormed out of the room in annoyance. She entered the room prepared for her and kicked the table and she recoiled in pain.
“Oh shit” she murmured and plopped into the bed.
“What do I do now?” she questioned herself. She has gotten herself into a pickle and she thought this was her easy way out.
They were all grand talk but were stingy even with the amount of money available to them. She needs a miserly sum of money but the billionaire was blocking her from getting it. She was running out of time and she needed the money as fast as possible.
As she sat back up her phone vibrated on the bedside stand and she shivered in fear. She picked up the phone and put it close to her ears.
“Darling this was not our agreement” the man over the line draws out.
“I already promised to get you the money by the end of the month” she answered shaking in her seat.
“But you are taking too much time to do so, it is just seven days to the end of the month,” he said and laughed over the line.
“I would get you the money,” she tells him trying to make her voice firm. Although she was sure it was coming out as a squeak to him.
“Did you not say your niece married a billionaire’s son? Get the money from her then” he said.
“I am working on it and you would leave my niece’s name out of your mouth”
“I have no business with your niece but I might have one if I don’t get my money in the next seven days. Do you think they would pay a twenty million ransom over her head?” he said as he snickered.
“You would do no such thing, I will get you the full payment before then,” she told him feeling her temperature boil.
“Twenty Million,” he says happily. “In seven days” he added before cutting off the call.
She sighed to herself. She has spoken so confidently about getting the money but here she was not knowing where she was going to see such a high amount of f money in seven days.
She had thought her usual blackmail trick would work well on Jessica but it turned out she was grown now. She sighed as she turned back and forth.
She knew she couldn’t get such an amount of money. The bank would not give her since she has bad credit with them. An idea brewed in her mind. Of all the things she has done in time to get money, this was the worst. She wanted to commit theft and forgery.
“Yes I think that would be the best way to go about this,” she tells herself nodding.
“All I need is a document stating a transfer to me or a checkbook or a wired transfer and Xavier’s signature,” she said out loud to herself.
She stood up and watched herself in the mirror. She nodded. “It’s a piece of cake. I can do it”
