Stella had already declared her identity, expecting the man before her to be
awestruck by her presence. Yet, Emmanuel’s indifference made her deeply
humiliated. Her icy voice sliced through the air, demanding his attention.
He paused momentarily, glancing at her without much interest. She quickly
stepped in front of him, blocking his path. Her head was held high as her
chest heaved in anger.

“Ms. Stella, since you’re here, do you know where Owen is?” he asked.

The surrounding crowd erupted in gasps and whispers, their attention now
fully drawn to the spectacle unfolding before them. No one had anticipated

Emmanuel furrowed his brow and stared at her.
Stella involuntarily shivered under the weight of his stare but quickly masked
her fear. She was used to having the upper hand, especially with men. After
all, she believed her gender gave her the upper hand, so she threatened,

“You have two options now. Either be my boyfriend so that I won’t have to

Emmanuel smirked.
He had no time for this nonsense, but he had to teach her a lesson for
ensnaring him in her tantrums. While a woman’s pride is one thing. Stelid’s
behavior is proof of her lack of integrity. Such a woman deserves no

As if on cue, the manager arrived in a panic, his voice rising over the crowd’s
murmur. “Ms. Stella, did you just cry out for help? Is everything alright?”

Stella’s smirk deepened, her eyes gleaming with victory as she glared at
Emmanuel. “So? Do you regret your actions? Beg for forgiveness, or you’ll end
up in prison. Your life will be ruined!”
Emmanuel merely scoffed, his contempt barely concealed. This woman truly
believes her family rules this country. She thinks she’s the princess of Eldoria.
Stella’s face flushed with rage upon seeing his smirk. “You think I’m bluffing?
Eldoria belongs to the Quill family! I’m the princess of this city! Getting rid of a
worthless country bumpkin like you would be as easy as squashing a bug!”
Her anger spiraled out of control, her once calculated arrogance giving way
to raw fury.
How could I, the daughter of one of the most powerful families, be
humiliated? Countless men dream of being at my beck and willing to grovel
at my feet. Yet, this man has the audacity to ignore me.

cold and measured.
“Why you! Fine, I’ll do as you wish, b*stard. I’ll make sure you learn your

“How dare-” Stella’s voice trembled in disbelief.
She does not behave like an heiress but rather, she resembles a spoiled
princess. Emmanuel’s expression remained impassive. “Sometimes, you need
to reflect on yourself before blaming others. Do you know what respect is?
Where are your manners? Do you really think bullying others is your
birthright? That it’s others‘ fault when they teach you a lesson?”

Stella shrieked, her rage overtaking her senses. In a blind fury, she grabbed a
knife from the banquet table and lunged at Emmanuel, aiming for his heart.
However, she didn’t get far.

The second slap was as loud and sharp, which resulted in the entire room
holding its breath in silence.
No one dared move or speak. This is not what we expect at this banquet!
More like they have disregarded the head of the Quills.
“The first slap was for being rude. The second for your false accusation.”
He stepped forward, delivering two more quick slaps that sent Stella crashing
to the ground, her cheek burning with humiliation and pain.
“The third was for being a member of the Quill family. And the fourth was
because I’m a married man. Since you lack self–respect, please stay the hell
away from me!”

Each word struck Stella like a hammer to her soul. She had pursued him, only
to be utterly humiliated. It was a nightmare that would haunt her for the rest
of her life.
Before she could even think of retaliating, a group of bodyguards rushed over
and surrounded Emmanuel.
“Who the hell touched my fiancée!?”
A voice bellowed, and a large, rotund man, accompanied by two
bodyguards, stormed into the hall.
“Look, it’s Mr. Howard!” someone whispered.
“He’s obsessed with Stella. Now that he’s seen her getting slapped, he’ll
definitely kill that man!”
Howard Tanner, the man in question, strode up to Emmanuel with arrogance.
“You b*stard! How dare you hit my woman? You’re dead! Not even the lord
can save you!”

Emmanuel didn’t bother to acknowledge him and walked past as if Howard
was invisible, even though Howard wanted to show off in front of Stella.
The crowd watched in awe, realizing just how bold this man was.
This is why he never hesitated to hit Stella! He doesn’t care about the Quill
family or the Tanner family of Zovince!
