A Night To Remember

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Outside, Norman and his mother were searching the rooms nearby. As Diane locked eyes with Norman and Elizabeth, she instinctively shrunk away from them.

Unfortunately for her, Christopher stood behind her and blocked the entrance to the room.

The man’s chest was warm and firm as he leaned steadily against hers; he didn’t have the slightest intention to budge. It was as though he wanted to show everyone that the two of them were huddled close together.

“Aha! I knew it. Quick, Norman—take a photo of these cheaters. Tsk, they’re practically stuck together in that position! Do you have no shame, Diane? Come out here.”

Then, Elizabeth reached out to grab Diane while Norman raised his camera and took a few photos. Then, he turned to glare at Christopher.

“Who are you? This is my wife, you assh*le.”

Immediately after that, Norman clenched his fist and threw a punch at Christopher. Christopher’s deep-set eyes focused momentarily, and he quickly caught Norman’s wrist before it could land its attack.

Just then, a loud crack sounded throughout the silent corridor—Norman’s wrist was broken without a moment’s delay. Meanwhile, Norman didn’t expect himself to be rendered defenseless by Christopher in one single move; he stared at Christopher wide-eyed for a long while before a devastating cry of pain escaped his mouth.

Throughout it all, Elizabeth was still trying to pry Diane away from the door. When she realized her son’s state of suffering, she let go of the woman immediately as she turned to her son. “How are you feeling, Norman? Oh no, they’ve committed murder! How dare these cheaters do something like this…”

Elizabeth sobbed uncontrollably as Christopher simply stared at them. He held onto Diane’s wrist and kicked Norman out of the way before pulling the woman away.

When they were finally out of the club, Diane couldn’t hold it in anymore; she shook off Christopher’s grip and questioned him, “What on earth are you doing? I’m going to be dead meat because of you. I…”

“Are you still planning on going home to them?”

Christopher raised a brow mockingly as the corner of his lips curved up sinisterly. “You have two choices—go back and get beaten to death by them, or you can come with me.”

It was already quite late; the night breeze was cold and chilly around her. Behind them, Elizabeth’s angry cries grew louder and louder—the mother-son duo were closing in rapidly.

“I’ll go with you.”

Things wouldn’t have become so intense if it weren’t for this man, so she didn’t have a choice but to follow him.

Diane took a terrified peek behind her. Right now, her body seemed to be drained of all energy as she felt weak all over. Her abdomen—which had yet to completely heal—was starting to hurt again, but she frowned and tried to keep it in. She didn’t want to let any of her pain show.

Christopher nodded in satisfaction; it was dark and he didn’t notice Diane’s pale complexion under the shadows. With that, he didn’t say another word. He simply turned around and walked toward the parking lot.

Diane followed behind Christopher, slowly inching forward strenuously. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

She wasn’t entirely aware of how the car ride went or how she got off the car. It was already the next day when she woke up; when she opened her eyes, she found herself lying on a bed in a huge bedroom.

The room had a monotonous theme of black, white, and gray. An elegant and exquisite chandelier graced the ceiling, and European-styled furniture were arranged in a simple and minimalist fashion. The room gave a cold and dignified air quite similar to the man.

Sure enough, it was his room. Diane rolled to the side and sat up on the bed. Then, she daydreamed a little as she hugged the comforter close to her chest.

All of a sudden, the vibration of her phone snapped her out of her daze and she jolted. She looked to the side—it was her own phone.

Somehow, Christopher had already retrieved all of her belongings and placed them by the bed.

She reached out and grabbed it to find that Norman had sent her a message on WhatsApp.

“You’d better settle our divorce as soon as possible if you know what’s best for you. Otherwise, I’ll see you in court.”

Along with that was a photo of her and Christopher at the club the night before. Norman had taken the photo from a pretty slick angle—the shot clearly showed Diane and Christopher positioned together intimately. The man’s head was lowered, and it even looked as though he was kissing her.

This was the evidence that Norman was planning to use against her so that she would comply with his wishes.

However, that wasn’t the point. Most importantly, Diane knew that Norman had a friend who worked at the court;

that was why Norman could blatantly threaten her even after having an illegitimate child of his own.

Diane balled her fists at the thought of that. Just as she was trying to think of a reply, Christopher entered the room.

Diane went stiff as a rock as soon as she saw the man. She forgot to reply to Norman’s message and hastily put her phone away when he came up to her.

Unfortunately, it was already too late. Christopher glanced at her phone and instantly snatched it from her grip.

The chat was still displayed on the screen as his oval-shaped eyes swept its contents. Then, the corners of his mouth lifted as he lightly tapped his finger on the screen several times.

“What are you doing?”

Diane started to panic, so she scrambled over to the side of the bed and tried to grab her phone from his hand. In response, Christopher simply raised it elegantly before showing her the screen.

“Get up now and divorce him.”

“What?”
