Madelyn obediently let go of Andrew’s hand.
He gave her hand a gentle squeeze.
“Wait for me.”
He returned to his desk to handle some urgent paperwork. Meanwhile, Madelyn sat on the couch and watched him with a mix of admiration and curiosity. There was something incredibly charming about the way he focused on his work.
Ten minutes later, Andrew closed the last file and stood up
“Let’s go, darling.”
Madelyn rose to her feet and slipped her hand into his, their fingers interlocking naturally as they walked
out together.
The colleagues who were working late glanced up and greeted them respectfully. Andrew’s good mood seemed to lift everyone’s spirits. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
In the car, Madelyn snuggled against Andrew’s arm while the streetlights cast a warm glow on their faces.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked.
“I want to work,” she said softly.
Andrew froze.
“Work?”
“It’s boring to just go to the office with you every day,” she explained.
Andrew had insisted she stay close to him, but she spent most of her time alone in his office, feeling utterly bored.
She was also quick with tasks and could complete drawings in minutes. She had even read almost every book available.
“Is spending time with me boring?”
Andrew’s tone grew displeased.
Madelyn tensed at his reaction.
She looked at his stern glare and explained, “It’s not that being with you is boring. It’s just that you’re always busy. You don’t have time to be with me.”
She was being honest as Andrew was always occupied with work and rarely had time to spend with her.
Andrew nodded thoughtfully.
“So, what would you like to do?”
Madelyn frowned at his question and murmured, “I finished my degree ahead of time. Why do you make it seem like I can’t do anything?”
Andrew looked at her, and his expression softened.
“Yes. My darling’s very smart. You skipped grades and did very well.”
“But I can’t compare to you,” Madelyn admitted.

She knew her intelligence was nothing compared to Andrew’s. Still, she had her own strengths.
“Alright. How about you be my secretary?” Andrew suggested, thinking it was a way to keep her close.
Madelyn shook her head.
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Miller Group’s secretarial team is huge, and everyone there knows me. Are you asking me to sit around and twiddle my thumbs simply?”
Everyone knew she was the president’s wife, so any position would be more symbolic than substantial. It would be no different from not working at all.
Andrew cupped her chin and gave her a deep kiss.
“Then tell me, what do you want to do?”
“I want to start my own studio.”
“A studio? Are you sure yo
can manage that?”
Andrew was doubtful. Although she was brilliant in school and graduated early, she lacked real–world experience.
He was skeptical at the thought of her wanting to establish her own studio despite not working a day in her life.
Madelyn wrinkled her nose.
“Do you think I can’t do it?”
“No, I don’t think that way. Sure! Let’s open a studio.”
Andrew immediately agreed when he noticed Madelyn on the verge of tears. He couldn’t bear to see her upset.
He mused over the fact that she was a crybaby and yet insisted on opening a studio herself. He figured letting her try was better than making her cry.
Andrew had thought the studio was just a way to keep her happy and something to indulge her with. But by the third day, he was stunned by what Madelyn had accomplished.
