Chapter 503: Leave Each Other Alone

Lily is very busy after returning to the company because of the launch of the new product, but she does

not forget John.

She goes to the hospital every afternoon.

If there is enough time, she will prepare nutritious breakfast and lunch and ask Victor to take them to Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

John.

After John eats the food she cooked for some time, when they are chatting, he says, "It's all because of

your good cooking. After eating it for a long time, my appetite has changed and I don't like takeout

anymore."

"I cook every day because you are a patient." Lily rolls her eyes at him and says, "It's only for this

period of time. When we get back, you will do the same for me."

John smiles and nods, "Alright, I'll cook whatever you want to eat."

After John's injury is completely healed, Lily takes him to Daisy's place as soon as he is discharged

from the hospital.

"Let's go eat there today."

"At your mother's place?" John never thinks that she will bring him to see her mother. He feels that it is

unreal.

He is a little nervous. "This is the first time I've been to your mom's place. It's not good to be empty-

handed. Let me go buy some gifts."

"Why do you take it so seriously?" Lily holds his hand that is going to open the door and smiles, "No

need. My mother is not that kind of person. Besides, you have to do that a lot in the future."

"Alright, I'll listen to you." John grasps her soft hand with a faint smile on his face.

Victor, the chauffeur, looks back and shakes his head.

It is just to pay her mother a visit, yet Mr. John is so happy that his mind is in a mess.

After arriving at Daisy's residence, Lily takes the key to open the door.

She takes the slippers from the shoe cabinet and gives them to John, shouting, "It smells good. What

kind of soup are you cooking, mom?"

"Lily, it's you!"

When Daisy in the kitchen hears the noise, she wipes her hands on her apron and hurriedly comes out,

"You like ribs, so I am making the meat ribs and seaweed soup..."

Seeing Lily leading an unfamiliar young man in, Daisy stops talking.

She stares at John blankly and asks Lily, "Lily, who is this?"

When she received a call from Lily this morning and learned that she would bring her boyfriend back for

a meal, Daisy thought that she and Louis have made up.

Why isn't it Louis?

"Oh, I forgot to introduce him to you." Lily pulls John over and says with a smile, "When I was studying

abroad, he was the one who took care of me. He's John, my boyfriend!"

"Hello, miss." John bows to greet Daisy politely.

Daisy is familiar with the name.

He met Lily abroad, but for some reason, they broke up. However, this is Lily's personal affair, and she

never asked about it.

She never thinks that after so many years, Lily will bring him to her.

"Hello." Although Daisy is shocked, she does not reveal it. She nods at John and says, "Lily told me

about you taking care of her when she was studying abroad, thank you."

John looks at Lily with a gentle smile and replies to Daisy, "No, I should thank you for raising such a

beautiful and smart daughter."

Daisy waves her hand, feeling embarrassed, "Lily is hard-working, and I didn't help much."

"Lily's temperament is like yours. Too many people are fond of her." John smiles and says, "I feel so

insecure!"

"Is that so?"

Lily can't watch any longer and interrupts, "Come on, stop praising each other. Mom, hurry up and

cook. We haven't eaten anything in the morning because we want to come back for lunch you cooked."

Evelyn signals John to sit on the sofa and makes tea for him.

Evelyn says that many vegetables have not been washed, so she pulls Lily to the kitchen to help her.

Lily goes into the kitchen to take a look.

Her mother has washed the vegetables, so she doesn't need her help at all!

Lily is helpless, "Mom, aren't you done? Why do you call me in?"

As she speaks, she is about to leave.

Daisy grabs her and stuffs a small container into her hand. "I haven't peeled the peas. Peel them!"

"..."

Daisy is making meatballs and looks into the living room.

Seeing that John is watching TV, she immediately moves closer to Lily and whispers to her, "Is this

John really your boyfriend?"

Lily glances sideways at her mother, "Do you think I'm lying to you?"

"Then what about Mr. Smith?"

After a few weeks, when she hears this name again, Lily's heart still trembles violently and she feels

bitter.

"Mom, I broke up with him last year. Do you understand?" Lily peels the peas and replies indifferently,

"We left each other alone. Your son-in-law will be surnamed Dawn. Don't call him wrong."

Daisy is someone who has been there before. Even if Lily pretends to be strong and doesn't care,

Daisy can still feel that she hasn't let go.

However, she can only watch and cannot interfere with her daughter's personal affairs.

Daisy sighs and asks her, "Do you really love him? Are you sure?"

"I'm sure. When it is not busy in the company, we'll go pick out rings and my wedding dress." As long

as she thinks of John's contribution, Lily feels that she owes him too much. "Mom, he has paid a lot for

me."

Every time something happens, John will always be the first to show up.

Marrying this man will mean no crying or grievance. What's not good about it?

Hearing these words, Daisy doesn't want to say anything else, "Whoever it is, as long as you are happy

with him, it will be fine with me."

Lily smiles, "Don't worry, I will be very happy."

contacted Coffey? Are he and Chloe really fine? I'm quite worried for them."

"Oh, nothing." Lily purses her lips and says, "I'm thinking about the business."

"I'm sorry. I am useless. I can't help you much." Daisy sighs and says, "I've seen how hard you've

worked. If you can't do it, then just let it be. You don't have to keep thinking about making a lot of

money."

Of the three children, Daisy loves Lily the most.

Lily is the eldest, since she is young, she has to bear many things, but she does not complain, and she

tried her best to advance.

Without this sensible and independent daughter, she really doesn't know what to do.

Lily helplessly says, "The company is promoting new products, and there are a lot of things to do, I'm

just worried. You have three smart and capable children, is this called useless? Forget it, you cook. I'm

really hungry."

"Okay, I won't talk about that."

Lily is busy in the kitchen for a while before her mother pushes her out.

She has nothing to do, so she washes some fruit and goes to the living room to watch TV with John.

Lily laughs madly when she sees that he is searching for 'what gifts to bring to see parents-in-law' and

'how to satisfy mother-in-law'.

"My mother is quite satisfied with you. Stop this. What the hell!"

"I just asked. In the province you live, a man can't come to visit his parents-in-law empty-handed or his

mother-in-law will look down on him." John pinches her nose and says, "I believed you and came here

empty-handed. I guess that although your mom is smiling, she dislikes me for being stingy on buying

gifts in her heart."
