Chapter 496: What Does She Mean to Him?
Soon after, the thunder crashes in the sky, and it rains heavily.
Lily is drenched.
Her mind goes blank. She is still kneeling there, staring at the door in front of her and waiting for
someone to open it for her.
Lily hears footsteps and then sees a woman.
"Ms. Lily, it's raining heavily. It will only make you sick." Valentina says with pity, standing with an
umbrella and looking at Lily who has been drenched in rain, "What can I do for you?"
Valentina?
Seeing Valentina, Lily lowers her head and clenches her hands tightly.
She feels as if a knife has been stabbed into her heart.
"No need."
Valentina leaves and goes up the stairs.
Lily tries not to think about her. However, Lily can't help but raise her head when she hears the sound
of the high heels stepping on the stairs.

'Don't open the door!'
Lily clenches her fists and can't even feel the pain caused by her nails. She is unable to see clearly
through the rain, but she still sees the door be opened and a tall man stands in front of Valentina.
Seeing Valentina, Louis frowns and says something.
A few seconds later, he pulls the door open.
Seeing that Valentina enters the house while Louis doesn't even look at her and closes the door coldly,
Lily feels as if cold winds chill to the bone.
Lily purses her lips and tastes the salty rain. Her body starts to shake.
"Silly me..."
After entering the room, Valentina finds a pair of sandals at the entrance. Her eyes turn cold but she
quickly regains her composure.
She bends down to take off her high heels.
"There's no need to change your shoes. Come in." Louis glances at her and says, "I don't have rules
for guests."
Valentina pauses and nods.
She walks barefoot and sees Louis make coffee. He is tall with broad shoulders and looks very
charming.
'No one says no to a reliable man like Louis who is at high position with great wealth!'
Valentina calms down and leans against the bar, asking Louis, "Didn't you say that Mr. Daniel is in
trouble? Why did you come back early?"
"I can't leave my company aside."
"I can help you, Louis." Valentina stares at his slender and clean hands passionately.
Louis laughs and refuses, "You are talented and promising. It is far below your talents for you to work in
my company."
Valentina says calmly, "True talents can succeed anywhere and will not worry about the size of the
company, as long as they can help their beloved ones. That's enough."
Louis does not reply but hands her a cup of hot coffee.
"Thank you." Valentina still looks calm. She takes a sip of the coffee and asks, "Arabica, right? It tastes
good."
Louis lowers his head and looks at the coffee in his hand.
After he bought the coffee machine, Lily has bought quite a few types of coffee beans.
Hearing the rain outside and thinking of Lily who is still kneeling in the rain, Louis feels distracted,
"Well, you can drink more if you like it. Now that you're here, I'd like to talk to you."
Valentina feels nervous as she looks at his cold eyes.
They sit in the living room.
Louis takes out a document and hands it to her, "Take this to your father."
"Louis, what do you mean?" Valentina has realized what the document says, and her smile freezes on
her face. "You turn me away after using me to clean up the mess?"
A sense of coldness touched Louis' eyes. "Ms. Hester, don't act as if you were heartbroken. We did
everything for our own interests."
"You know what you've done and why you had to resign. You didn't return for the sake of marriage. I
didn't do anything because of my partnership with your father."
Louis says bluntly.
Valentina feels bitter.
It turns out that Louis knows everything, but he chooses to remain silent. And he is nice to her for
utilitarian purposes.
What about the woman outside in the rain? What does she mean to him?
Ridiculous!
For Louis, she had nothing on Lily.
Valentina takes a deep breath and gracefully places the coffee cup on the coffee table. "Of course I
know," she says, "and I'd like to make it reality."
She stares at Louis and smiles. "Louis, I want you to marry me."
Louis frowns.
Valentina knows what he is going to say and quickly says, "Now the Nathans and the Lous have
teamed up. You have few friends in the military. It's impossible for you to beat the Lous."
"You won't lose if you marry me. My father will treat you as his son. He loves me. He will give me
anything I want." Valentina spreads her slender legs and sits on his lap.
She presses him against the sofa, but Louis remains calm and indifferent.
"Is that so?"
"Of course." Valentina touches his cold face and then the button of his shirt. "You know, my father had
deep connections. After we get married, they will become yours."
Slowly and teasingly, she unbuttons his shirt.
Valentina likes his appearance, abilities and personalities.
With the marriage with Louis and her family background, she would become the envy of everyone in
the country!
"Louis, marry me." Valentina intimately approaches him. "Once you do, you can do anything you want.
Nobody will stop you because they're afraid of you."
With a straight face, Louis looks at Valentina, who is wiggling her body on his lap.
"Ms. Hester, are you done?" asks Louis with a hint of mockery.
Valentina is dumbfounded, and then her arm hurts.
She is thrown onto the carpet on the ground.
Louis stands up from the sofa and buttons his shirt with one hand. He looks down at her
condescendingly, "I don't deserve the joy. Go find someone else."
"Louis!" Valentina doesn't expect him to insult her this way, so she gets really annoyed.
She has never been treated like this!
Valentina looks up at him and threatens coldly, "Louis, if you don't marry me, I will immediately ask my
father to stop the cooperation with you. Then Daniel will die!"
"Give it a try. I wonder if your father cherishes his money or his daughter. Before breaking the contract,
your father should think about whether your family can bear the consequences," Louis says coldly.
Valentina laughs, "Then why are you overwhelmed by the trouble of Daniel?"
"Well, I am not in high place, but I have a lot of money." Louis picks up the bag from the sofa and
throws it at her. "No one hates money. It's just a matter of the amount."
Valentina is sensitive and she immediately understands what Louis means.
It turns out that Louis hasn't placed all his bets on her father. In fact, he has found others ways out.
No wonder he is not afraid of her threat!
Suddenly, Rich runs over, wagging its tail and barking at Louis. Then it runs towards the door.
