A Billionaire’s Ruse

Narrator’s POV

When Emily left Alexio on the dance floor, he was about to move away from the dance floor when he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and saw that it was a beautiful lady with brunette hair, blue eyes and it was cat-like. She must have done some work on it, he thought.

His guard came forward and was about to escort the lady away but Alex waved him away.

“Can I have this dance Alex?” She said in a husky voice.

The song changed to a slow one and they started dancing.

Alexio’s POV

“I can’t seem to remember your name.”

“You’re always funny Alex and never changing?”

“Why do you think so?”

“Common Alex. We both have had sex a few times and you still find it hard to remember my name every single time. I am really offended this time.” She said with a pout on her face.

“Besides, you promised to remember my name the next time we meet.”

You bastard Alexander. I can now see how you’ve been living a useless life even while making use of my name.

“So, tell me your name so I can remember it the next time we actually meet?”

“Maggie. As in Margaret O’Connor. My dad is the owner of the O’Connor garage.”

… Interesting. Just the owner of a garage? She was not supposed to be here then.

“I am surprised you actually acknowledged your wife tonight. You’re always irritated by her.” She said and I just smiled at her.

She is giving me an insight to the relationship between Alexander and Emily and for a reason, I’m irked by it.

“You even invited me tonight so you won’t have to be with her.” She continued

“Did I now?”

She smiled

“But I’m not offended in the slightest. I know what I want and how to get what I want.”

She said as she slid her hands down to my crotch. I caught her hand before she did because I was already irritated by her. I’ve had enough of her.

I excused myself and was making my way out of the hall to get a quick smoke.

I was almost out of the hall and I believe I caught sight of Emily coming back to the hall without her parents.

I was making my way to her when Maggie pulled me back to herself and kissed me on the lips. What was that?

I tried to push her off but she held me tighter to herself.

She smiled triumphantly when she eventually let me go. I looked around and I saw people clapping and cheering.

What’s wrong with these people? Did Emily see this? For some reason I could not say, the fact that Emily must have seen this woman kiss me in public had me worried and anxious.

“Damn you woman.” I cussed at her

Phones were brought out and pictures and videos were taken. I looked at Damon and he got into action in collecting the phones and deleting the pictures and videos. They were refusing but I trust Damon to get the work done. He is that efficient.

I quickly scanned the crowd and true enough, there was Emily looking death stricken.

“Emily” I whispered her name.

Damn. This was not how I wanted this night to go. I should have an upper hand in this game I had planned out.

I made to move towards her but she fled the room so fast.

“Alex.” I heard a moan behind me.

I looked back and saw Margaret holding her stomach. Not this now. I ignored her and moved on but she held my hand and she looked so much in pain. She cried and fell on the floor.

“It hurts Alex. Please. It hurts so bad” She cried.

Everyone else was busy. I looked over at Damon but he was still busy with handling the guests and so were the other guys.

I bent down and picked her up and moved her to the back of the room. I laid hands on one of the servers and put some cash in his pocket.

“Take good care of her, okay? Take her to a hospital if the need arises.” I told him and made my way out of the hall.

I searched all the rooms and I could not find her. Where could she be?

I went out of the building and there she was resting on her car. I did not want to call her name, afraid she would run away again. So I moved closer until I got closer to her.

She was on a call.

“Ann, it was the same lady he cheated on me with. That two faced Margaret.”Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Ann said something on the other end.

“I don’t care. To hell with love Ann. I just want to find a way to get him to settle this debt. This is the only way to save my father’s company. I can not afford to lose it this way.

“Alex is just a  bastard. The earlier I am done with him, the earlier I will have my peace of mind away from him.”

Something was said at the other end again.

“Yes. I used to love him but not anymore.”

“Emily.”
