A Billionaire’s Ruse

It All Started Here

“You can hate me for all I care but it will not change the fact that your father’s company is on the verge of crumbling,” he said to me, obviously stating the truth that I hate to admit.

“Also that’s not all If you pay with 30% shares out of your shares, I will buy your remaining 25% shares for $300, 000, so you can start a new business a fair deal right?” he said this time looking like a monster to me

“Won’t it be nice if I gain your company instead of it should bankrupt at least I am your husband” he said

“You have your own company Alex, why mine?”

“I’m not in for all these, will you solve this or let your company fall, make decisions” he saidOriginal from NôvelDrama.Org.

“When do you need this money even though we can’t afford everything?” I asked him after accepting the reality I was in

“In a 3days time, the money should be ready except you are willing to lose that goddamn forsaking company” he said to me.

“That is too close. When do you want me to sort out the money?” I asked him in surprise

“sort out yourself. The clock is ticking and time has never been your friend” he said to me walking into his room, obviously to celebrate once again how he succeeded in putting my family in such a disastrous situation.

At that moment I sat down truly feeling sad and depressed, not because of the money that beast is demanding but how my family, known as one of the most powerful families in this territory, has been reduced to a little thing that everybody can toss the way they wish. Sadly, it all started with one meeting, one meeting and my whole life was destroyed.

*FLASHBACK*

“we are about to lose all we’ve worked so hard for in the last two decades” my Dad said looking truly depressed.

I can’t remember the last time I saw my Dad looking so depressed.

“what do you mean, Dad” I asked him

“We are at the verge of losing our company unless something is done really fast, I am afraid that all we have worked for all these years will be a waste of time” My Dad said.

“What can we do about this, Dad?” I asked, truly worried.

I really love my Dad. Our bond grew stronger when I almost lost my mum in a ghastly car accident a few years ago.

Ever since then, I am always concerned whenever my Dad is worried or disturbed.

“Nothing, my daughter, except to hope that a good investor, probably from the blues will appear and take away all our predicament,” My Dad said.

“where can we find such a good soul” I said truly bewildered, although silently, however it did not escape the ears of my Dad

“I have tried to reach out to other potential investors but they are trying to take advantage of my predicament but trying to put in policies that will affect my ownership of this company” he replied.

” Dad, I want you to be strong for me, we will definitely find a way out,” I assured him.

“ok, my daughter. It will be difficult, but we would find a way” My Dad said to me seeming to be relieved even though it was just a temporal relief

I knew we needed to do something quickly if we truly had any chances of getting our company back to the way it has always been, the only problem is that I do not know what to do.

I sat down on my bed looking truly worried. After the conversation with my Dad today, I have not been myself. I have been truly worried because I knew that our company has been my Dad’s only source of joy after the death of my mother.

I knew with the pace at which the company is falling, it won’t take long before he gives up if nothing is done really fast.

Sitting here all day and thinking about my Dad’s company that is crumbling will not solve the problem so I decided to go out and do something different to take away all the thoughts weighing me down.

I cheered up and called my friend, Ann, to go out and have some fun.

“Hey, Ann” I said

“Hello, Emily” she said

“Are you free today?” She asked

“Yes, I’m at home feeling really bored,” she responded.

“great, how about we meet today to have some fun” I suggested

“I love the idea because I’m really bored here,” she said, truly excited.

“Great, it seems we are on the same page. Let’s meet by 6pm” I said feeling excited

I drove in my new Bmw M2 my Dad bought for me last month as a surprise to visit my friend, Ann.

This car is certainly my favorite car amongst my fleet of cars because it gives me the feeling of luxury that I really love.

Ann, my friend has always warned me to be careful with the way I flaunt my luxurious life.

This, however, seems to be different from my life and social media because unlike most celebrities and Daughters of most billionaires, I do not have an active social media page because I cannot handle all the negative attention that comes with social media.

This is one of the reasons I avoid having a lot of friends. The few friends I have make up for me not having a sibling.

“where are you, girlfriend” Ann texted me

“I’m close to the bar, I will be there in ten minutes” I texted back.

“see you, girlfriend” she replied

Few minutes later, I arrived at the bar to see Ann sitting in the bar, obviously waiting for me.

“look who we have here” she said when she noticed my presence

“sorry for keeping you waiting” I apologized to her after giving her a brief hug.

“It’s OK, I understand you can be really busy, especially with the outcome of events in your father’s company,” she replied.

She is one of the few people who knows about the crisis going on in my Dad’s company.

She has proven to be a trusted friend and I am always comfortable confiding in her about certain problems I encounter.
