The two walked down the stairs side by side and saw Elena standing in front of Andrew’s car. Amelia wasn’t around and had clearly left.

Seeing Elena waiting for Andrew, Carrie instinctively stepped forward to reprimand her. “This bitch, how dare she…”

Before she could move forward, Madelyn grabbed her by the

wrist.

She turned to look at Madelyn in confusion. Couldn’t Madelyn

tell that she was standing up for her?

Madelyn hissed, “Didn’t you learn your lesson? When did you turn so violent? How many times are you going to fight a day?”

Carrie sulkily stepped back and retorted, “You heartless. woman. No one’s gonna defend you after I leave.”

“I don’t need anyone to do that for me!”

“Fine, you now have a husband. You’d better hold tightly onto Andrew,” Carrie teased.

A trace of softness surfaced in Madelyn’s eyes at the mention. of Andrew’s name.

She was equally annoyed by Elena’s pestering and turned to look at Carrie. “You can get going.”

“Are you really gonna be okay?” Carrie was worried.

Although she knew that Madelyn would most probably

retaliate, she couldn’t feel at ease considering all the bullying. Madelyn had suffered from Elena for years.

Madelyn understood her concerns and sneered. “Don’t your know that anyone who’s suffered enough will retaliate more ruthlessly?”

Carrie was briefly stunned by her words. She then nodded, feeling a lot more reassured. “I’ll get going, then.”

Madelyn walked toward the car after Carrie left. Elena was blocking the door to the driver’s seat.

She didn’t bother to put a facade when it came to Madelyn. A vicious look was harbored in her eyes.

“You did it on purpose, didn’t you?” Elena snarled.

She couldn’t stand Madelyn’s calm demeanor. Madelyn had always faked indifference when in fact, she was more

hypocritical and ambitious than anyone else. She wanted to take everything as hers.

Madelyn said sternly, “Move!”

“Madelyn, don’t even think about it. I won’t give you those

shares.”

Madelyn had never been able to take anything from her over the years. Elena was certain that this time would be no exception, either.

But she couldn’t help panicking still when Caleb proposed

giving those shares to Madelyn.

Madelyn sneered as she listened to Elena’s hysterical shouts.‘ The Garcia family is doomed. The shares you own are just a pile of debts.”

Elena’s face turned instantly pale.

She had to admit that Madelyn was right. The shares that brought in hundreds of millions of dollars in dividends per year would end up being a burden to her once the Garcia family was destroyed.

But she couldn’t bring herself to transfer what originally belonged to her to Madelyn.

“Don’t even think about it. Even if that’s the case, I won’t give them to you!” 

“Fine. Let’s see how long the shares you own retain value.”

With that, Madelyn pushed Elena away. Elena was shoved to the ground after being caught off guard.

Madelyn got in the car and drove off. A mocking smile appeared on her lips when she saw Elena furiously pounding the ground through the rearview mirror.

After what Elena had done to ruin Andrew and swallow the

entire Garcia family in her previous life, Madelyn vowed to give her a taste of losing everything bit by bit.
