Her Precious Baby

Chapter 141

Chapter 141

Evander sped up a little when they made it onto the highway, but he didn’t tell her where they were going.

Still feeling depressed after what happened earlier, Angeline didn’t bother asking and simply leaned against her seat.

Neither of them said a word until Evander parked the car inside the garage at the Golding residence.

“Why would you bring me here?” Angeline asked in confusion when she saw the familiar-looking courtyard around her.

Evander simply made his way toward her side and carried her out of the car.

Angeline let out a surprised yelp as she was caught off guard and nearly lost her balance. Not wanting to fall, she instinctively wrapped her arms around Evander’s neck.

He then carried Angeline into the Golding residence and went straight to his bedroom upstairs. He didn’t even bother turning on the lights. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

Angeline began to panic when she realized he wasn’t heading toward the guest room.

“Where are you taking me?” she exclaimed while giving him a pat on the arm.

“You’ll wake Floretta and Francesca up if you keep talking so loudly,” Evander said, his tone as cold as ice.

Angeline arched an eyebrow at him in response but decided to keep quiet anyway. Evander then kicked his bedroom door open and threw her onto his bed.

“Hey! Can’t you be a little gentler?” Angeline protested even though she didn’t feel any pain when landing on Evander’s soft bed.

This is the second time I’ve been tossed around! Why am I so unlucky today?

Evander shot her an icy-cold gaze while taking his coat off. He then got on top of her and held her head with both hands. With a gloomy look on his face, he forcefully rubbed her lips as he asked, “Where did he touch you? He must’ve kissed you on the lips, right?”

“Ow!” Angeline winced from the pain and looked the other way.

Realizing that Evander was being jealous, she wrapped her arms around his neck and flashed him a mischievous smile.

“What if I told you that Hanson really did kiss me?”

There was a vicious glint in Evander’s eyes as he replied, “I’ll stitch his mouth up.”

Angeline shuddered when she heard what he said.

Knowing Evander, I have no doubt that he would actually go through with that. Given the amount of power he holds, doing so would be a piece of cake.

With that in mind, Angeline stopped joking and put on a serious expression as she said, “Don’t worry; he didn’t get to do anything to me. The wound on his head is the best proof of that.”

Evander’s frown eased up a little after he heard that, much to Angeline’s relief.

“Still, thanks for coming to my rescue in the nick of time. I don’t know if I would’ve been able to walk out of that bar if it weren’t for you.”

Evander let out a gleeful snort in response. “Is that all I get for saving you?”

“What else do you want?”

Those words had barely left Angeline’s mouth when Evander carried her to the bathroom.

“Fill the bathtub up,” he ordered.

Angeline wasn’t sure what he had in mind, but she did as told anyway.

Because the bathroom was rather small, it only took a few minutes for the steam to fill up the entire space inside.

“The bath is ready,” Angeline said while turning toward Evander, only to see him taking his shirt off.

The warm lighting in the bathroom made his muscular body appear all the more masculine.

“Eek! Why didn’t you tell me you were going to take your clothes off?” she exclaimed in shock and covered her eyes with her hands.

“Because I am going to take a bath, duh! What, do you expect me to do that with clothes on?” Evander retorted.

“You should have at least informed me beforehand so I could prepare myself mentally!” Angeline mumbled as she turned around and headed toward the bathroom door.

She had just taken a few steps forward when Evander grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward the bathtub.

“If you’re going to thank me, then you’ll have to do so through your actions.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“I want you to give me a bath,” Evander replied while lying comfortably in the bathtub with his eyes closed.

What? I’m the one who needs a bath here!

Although reluctant, Angeline had no choice but to do as she was told. She rolled up her sleeves and began scrubbing at his shoulders.

Evander kept his eyes closed and tried to enjoy the service he was receiving. As the two of them were very close to each other, Angeline was able to get a good look at his facial features. Wow, I didn’t know he had such flawless skin! I don’t see any beauty masks or cosmetic products in here, though. Life sure is unfair!

While admiring his complexion, Angeline recalled what he had said earlier and asked, “Did you really call off your engagement with Olivine?”

“Yeah.”

“Why? She’s from a wealthy family, isn’t she? You two are perfect for each other!”

As Angeline was massaging his shoulders with just the right amount of force, Evander’s lips curled into a comfortable smile.

“Because you’re my woman now.”

Angeline blushed and quickly explained herself, “Cut it out, will you? I only said all that to get away from Hanson at the bar! Don’t take it seriously!”

Evander frowned in displeasure when he heard that. Realizing that Angeline was about to run away again, he quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward him.

Angeline lost her balance and fell into the bathtub. The water splashing into her mouth caused her to cough and sputter as she struggled in panic.

It wasn’t until Evander yanked her out of the bathtub that she was able to calm down a little. Noticing that her shirt was all drenched, she shot him a furious glare while panting heavily.

“Are you crazy, Evander? These are the only clothes I have on me right now! Also, don’t you know that I’m afraid of water?” she snapped at him like an angry kitten.

Instead of getting offended, Evander simply let out a chuckle as he asked, “You’re finally willing to address me by name, huh?”

Annoyed and confused, Angeline yelled, “Okay, you’re definitely crazy!”

She was about to come out of the bathtub when Evander grabbed her by the wrist. He then squeezed her chin and turned her head toward him as he said, “But I did take it seriously, and I know you have feelings for me too.”

Angeline’s eyes darted around nervously after he exposed her secret.

“Why would you bring up such a heavy topic all of a sudden? Oh, I know! You must be hungry, right? I’ll go make you some pasta or something!”

“Answer me, Angeline.”

Evander stared deeply into her eyes as he continued in an authoritative tone, “Look at me and answer my question.”

As he pulled her even closer, Angeline found herself breathing even more heavily than before.

She really didn’t want to admit it, but her responses had already exposed her true feelings.
